... it's 29 miles to the Waterhole Flat intersection, another 7 miles to the intersection with the Flint Trail, then up the incline (Waterhole flat to the top of the climb rates 4wd necessary)... and 12 or so miles to the Hans Flat Ranger station, and another 46 miles to blacktop at about 20 miles north of Hanksville on UT24....

I was just told this might trigger cranky-wife-syndrome... :princess: :D

I haven't told her it'd be another 73 miles from Blanding to Hite Marina in order to get started on dirt...:flipoff2:

So Kevin and I talked this over yesterday.
We're going to have to make a visit to the Maze in a separate trip, and that'll be one requiring camping. So it's gonna be expedition-like :grinpimp:.
Point is that the distances involved are too long for day trips, and while we're used to rushing the light, it won't leave much time for looking around...

153 hours until my planned departure :bounce::bounce2::bounce:

After receiving my trail assignments I went looking for my reservation information for Slickrock and was not able to locate a conformation email for this year:doh:. I just finished emailing them back there automated response from when I made the request and am hoping they have already processed it or still have some spots free...

Travel plans have been finalized as much as they can be and it looks like we will be in the Mexican Hat area Friday afternoon. looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Here are my trail assignments this year.

Thursday - Metal Masher
Friday - Hells Revenge
Saturday - Wipe Out Hill

Got my trail assignment email, Spike on Thursday!:bounce:

we've had ours since February or so - maybe it helped that I put us down as willing to volunteer :hhmm:

Actually, we didn't, although the message looked very much like the assignment notification.

In any case, it's Golden Spike - WipeOut Hill - Hell's Revenge. We'll probably ditch the Hell's run in favor of an excursion into Canyonlands. And I've offered to tailgun if necessary on Spike and WipeOut Hill.

Missed Carl and Chris, hope everything is good with you guys.:frown:

There's about 750 pics on my camera and I'm sure the others have similar numbers. Barely had time for dinner on most nights, much less posting pics. Sorry to disappoint the web wheelers but stay tuned, there should be an onslaught in the coming days. I'm beat and my junk is still in the truck.:meh::cheers:

too damn tired to post anything else right now but thanks to all who made this fantastic trip happen
