Hello!
My clutch release fork has begun tapping against the slave/release cylinder rod. Is there an adjustment here that I’m not seeing? It goes away when I put a small bit of pressure on the pedal.
It’s pretty annoying. Sounds like a loud valve lifter.

My problem was the fork not fully disengaging so the bearing would barely touch and it squeaked. Touching the clutch pedal engaged the bearing so no squeak.
My solution: found a spring with just the right tension/length to fully retract the bearing/fork. Had to drill 2 small holes: one on the fork, other on a bracket (can’t recall which). Trick I got from a friend who owned a tranny shop and works great!

So there’s supposed to be a larger gap between the two?

you don't want any pre-pedal pressure on the clutch fork

my guess is that your clip on the release bearing is shot. there isn't an adjustment to be made on your slave, only the pedal assembly. but i would caution this if the adjustment has been fine up until now. over adjustment on the pedal can create constant master cylinder engagement.

The whole thing was rebuilt several months ago, so it’s all fresh.
