Does anyone have any experience replacing one of these on a 91 pickup. I have a friend that has one that is cracked and flexing when the pedal is depressed.
Just curious as to what all is involved??

Thanks for any advice,

Mike

it is simple to R/R.
just sucks working under the dash.
remove the clip on the pin for the brake pedal, and then again for the clutch.
remove the 12mm head bolts that attach to the fire wall.
remove the 12mm head bolts that mount the clutch master.
disconnect the brake lite wire.
fish it out.

i have had and repaired this problem on a lot toyotas.
and some other brands too.
you can get away with welding it while bolted in the truck. depends on your welder setup.
but somtimes the cracks are not reachable.

it is better to weld it, than to buy a new one.
i always build up the welds real thick around the area it broke to strenghten it, so it wont happen again.

I just pulled mine. Do not but a new won. Pull it. Weld it. Better than new. Let me know if any ? Donnie:beer:

Mine broke too on my 93 T-100. A while back but I don't recall any problems replacing it.
