I have a G52 transmission with new clutch and throw out bearing in my truck. I'm swapping it for a W56, can I use the old style throw out bearing from the G52 or do I need to get the newer style? Thanks

Have you compared p/n?

My first reaction is I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably the same part.

I went from a W56 B with the two piece TO bearing (cast part with replaceable bearing) to a R151F that came with a one piece TO bearing assembly. They looked very different but in reality the contact surfaces/dimensions were exactly the same and were interchangeable.

I did a post over on Yotatech with a lot of info on the clutch forks/levers and the TO bearings. I had 3 different types and they all worked on my W56 B and the R151F. I was going to give the link but the pics are all gone.

So I guess you need to mock them up and compare fit/measurements.

Good luck with it an let us all know what you find out.

It is definately a different part and they both connect to the fork differently. the older style is a sleeve where you can just replace the bearing, the new style is a one piece deal.

I found my pics of the two different ones I had anyway. Either one worked on my W56B.

completely different parts
I understand, but...

In the early 22re/W56 years the TO bearing was a two piece deal. Later, around 1989, Toyota went with the one piece bearing with the 22re/W56. They interchange. As I recall the one piece TO bearing was the same part number used on the 3RZ in the Tacomas.

Thanks, that is what i'm looking for

I’m right in the middle of the same thing. G52 TO bearing/fork is the exact same as the W56a I am swapping in.
