Hi, I have an 89 Land Cruiser, automatic and I noticed that there is a clunking noise going on when I am coming to a stop. It is bothersome and I have check underneath to see if there is something loose, driveshaft or transfer case but I can't see anything. Any help with this issue will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Probably a combination of the transmission output shaft splines and the "dog collar/drive collar" teeth being worn.
Common with the automatics especially with high mileage. The fix is a replacment transfer input gear with longer splines, and a new drive collar is a great idea as well since the transfer case would need to be torn down to replace either.
If you're in San Antonio, AJ Yota's or Jim @CenTXFJ60 are great shops that have experience rebuilding these transfer cases

Thank you Matt. @zorro171 , feel free to reach out to me if I can be of help. T cases are one of my favorite things to work on.
Thank you CenTXFJ60, I will reach out later. Is good to know that there are experts on the San Antonio area. You can send me your information and I will reach out later. Thank you.

Thank you Cruisermatt, I will get under the car this weekend and verify. Thank you for sharing the information on AJ Tota and CenTXFJ60, I really needed a good Land Cruiser ecpert. Thank you.
