Thought this might interest our club. Please see the attached PDF for rules.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

My name is Joe Showalter and I am the Features Coordinator with Motor Trend Auto Shows, LLC. We are the production company that produces the New Mexico International Auto Show. This year the auto show is once again located at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This year’s show runs April 23-25, 2010.

We just found out that we have some available space in the Northwest Hall of the Albuquerque Convention Center, where we can put a few car clubs to participate with a one-day, inside display. We would be looking for a 8-10 car display to showcase your club’s vehicles on Sunday, April 25 from 10am – 7pm. If you have more than 10 vehicles interested in participating, just let me know. There is no registration fee. This would be complimentary (FREE) space for your club’s participation on Sunday. This would be a great chance to get more exposure for your team and to potentially sign up new members.

The vehicles on display will be stanchioned off from the general public and each person who is either helping or displaying a vehicle will receive an exhibitor badge for in-and-out privileges during all show days. Plus, I will be able to send general admission auto show tickets to other club members who will not be showcasing their vehicle, but would like to still attend the auto show during one of the show days. There is a limited amount of floor space, so it will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, as I will be contacting other local car clubs in the area.

I know the show is right around the corner, so I need to know if you are interested as soon as possible. If you are interested, then I will need your contact information (mailing address, phone, cell phone, email, etc.) to be able to reserve your space in the show and send you auto show information via UPS.

Thanks again for your time and I look forward to your response. If you have any questions at all, please just let me know. I have included some important auto show information below along with all of my contact information.

crap, I hit submit twice by accident!

So delete the first one. You have the power.

Jon, I thought you were going to want to participate and show off Da' 40.

If anybody's got a built up 60 and a spare driver, we could present the Before (265k, flat suspension, stock rubber/rims), During (205k, BDS, 30" BFGs), and After versions....

Never been to a car show before: would I have to give mine a bath? :hillbilly:

Shoot. I probably have the only real built 60 around anymore. I would totally dive in except that disconnecting the battery for 12 hours would cause me nothing but legal grief. I like the Before and After idea. Since a stock 60 looks more like a station wagon than what we would consider an SUV (80 series and beyond) the difference in appearance is striking.

When I went to check out what ultimately became my 60, I took Juane and we drove his (nearly identical looking to mine now) V8J60 and parked right next to "mine" in the seller's driveway, the seller never had a clue Juane's was the same platform as his until we pointed it out after the test drive.

I would like to, but I work that weekend to earn time off for CM, which, IMHO, will be a hell of a lot more fun in Da'40.

Greg: sounds like we should get 'em all together at some point, just for giggles and photo ops.

Ali: very funny. I can't help it that no Mudders are around when I engage the 4wd.... My rig DD'd so much this winter that I had to put a new battery in the lil car.

Sounds like no one is going to enter a vehicle, but is anyone going just to oogle? I was thinking about going on Sunday to catch the Club stuff and wouldn't mind the company.
