You might double check everything is plugged in correctly in the back of the climate control box. I had the external temp sensor was disconnected and giving me fits with temp control. Lx450

What is the cause of failure? Is it something preventable like moisture intrusion or is it a soldering issue or ??
I don't like when critical components are discontinued - it kills part of my spirt and makes want to do dumb things like buy a 200 series.

I have yet to get the time to open it up and pull the part out. Wirth the amount of rain we have had lately and the fact that the first issue started right after washing it I am say...90% sure that it is due to water leaking into the control box and having its fun. Pretty much all the cases here on mud have been water related as well.
Yea it is a major bummer that these are disc. as it is going to make it harder and harder to replace down the road. If someone has some skills to reproduce that thing they could make some bucks.

if you get it apart soon enough, you can dry it off and it will be fine. i got water in mine and got it dried off withing a few days and its been fine. it hadnt rusted or corroded at all. would be worth a shot to try to get it out of there soon.

So finally got around to pulling out the control box under the right side of the dash. First off...yes that thing is a B!tch to get out. I left the dash panel on...guess my long fingers finally came in handy.
Anyway got it out, opened it up and....
Nada. Looks fine.
Going to drill a couple holes in the bottom corner of the case to hopefully prevent it from going bad.
Attached a few photos. So back to the drawing board. Off to do some more searching/reading...if you have any insight shoot it my way, would appreciate any and all help!

Take a look at thread "97 LC Collectors Edition Climate Control".
Part # 88650-60212, 88650-60211, 88650-60210 are same.
HDJ81 RHD 88650-60091 apparently will work as well.

Where is this box? I checked under the steering column above and under the pedals but didn’t see it. I’m having problem with the blower fan. There no AC on Lo setting, Mi and Hi work. Just replaced the blower resistor since it’s out of specs. TiA
