clear ARB lenses

I can't speak to why others are getting them, but...I'm not much for bling-factor, so that's not why I got my pair (thanks nakman!). I do recall someone having problems locating a replacement lense for their ARB, so mine's more a back up than anything else. When (and I know it'll happen eventually) I break the amber lense, I'll swap in the clear ones and switch to an amber bulb -- probably a LED, if I can find one that's plug-n-play.

I like having spares handy so I can fix things sooner rather than later.
 
Well, clear lenses with amber bulbs are actually a little brigher than amber lenses with clear bulbs, but if it's that dark out you should just twist the switch the rest of the way and turn your headlights on.. So yup, total bling thing, just like swapping corners, tail lights, turn signals, or anything else. But on a personal note, it's also a shot in the arm for myself, to get me more into product development. I literally help folks bring ideas to reality for a living, high time I put 2 & 2 together and did the same for myself.. more new stuff to come, folks, stay tuned! :cheers:

cool, I will keep you all posted. some great progress was made this past weekend on the new design, I'll be making an SLA prototype this week just to confirm fit, then it's off to cut steel.

That's right, these will be "second generation" ARB clears.. If you read the whole thread here you know the first generation lenses have been cast urethanes. But the second gens will be from automotive grade injection molded clear Lexan.. so they will have higher HDT's, also should be a little clearer too. I'll post up a pic of the prototype I make later this week, and will keep you all updated on the progress. TIA..

That's what I was thinking... First set are kinda nice.. rocks just bounce off.:D
