Anybody interested in doing a tree run this year? Thanksgiving has sneaked up on me (it's in two weeks if you weren't paying attention) and most folks like to get their trees within a couple weeks after Thanksgiving. I'm not planning on getting one but would be up for heading out to the mountains for a day of fun.

If you want to go and have a weekend day that works best for you, post something up and let's see if we can come to some sort of agreement on a date and location.

Marc: You are going to get sick or your truck is going to roll.

Do not go!

Hey, don't jinx it. Every Christmas tree run I've managed to make it to has been fun and uneventful. The ones where me and/or kids are sick are always the interesting ones. So for everyone's safety, I should plan to attend.

I'm interested, but don't have much availability. Maybe Sunday, December 7? Actually, Thanksgiving weekend may work best for me, but that may be too early for those that want trees (I do not).

Was up in the Jemez on Sunday. One more dump and the snow will be just perfect to play in. As it was, there was only few inches of snow on the trails.

famous last words...we have a few BF/GF that have gotten stuck on this run and gotten closer than anticipated...:D

Man, I am tempted to fly out for another HDC Xmas Tree Run.. We've had some great runs and some epic recoveries!!

No snow in ATL though. It was 75 today.

:)

I spent most of my time on this:

That is beautiful!

Weather forecast shows some precipitation on Sat night. Maybe there would be a slight addition to any snow left on the ground in the Jemez.

Thanks Vince. I've been working on it for about 8 months now. Almost complete. Can't wait! Newly rebuilt 2F, new OEM H55F, rebuilt split case....it's gonna outlive me hopefully and I am 40 in a month.

I've been following your write up in the 60 section. Buddy, yer nuts. Nice work. Get'r done and start driving the thing.

So who's in for this Sunday, 12/7? We could meet at the Walatowa visitor center at 9:30. It opens at 10 for those that want to buy a tree permit. We can plan to depart from there right after 10.

Where is this build thread you are referring to? I'm having trouble finding with searches and slogging through every thread Onur has ever started.

Count me in. No tree for Pappy, but a day in the forest sounds really nice. Especially with snow predicted for Thursday and Saturday. If it snows ... BRING CHAINS!

Tree run from Hades, 2007.

Ya, what was her name? Amanda? They were good sports getting stuck and all. Though, I seem to recall daddy wasn't happy.

Possibly in.
Convoy north bound?

I would recommend the filling station on 528, just south of 550 at 8:45. I have a vague memory of hearing that it had closed though. Can anyone confirm this? If you miss that, then just head up to the Jemez Pueblo (Walatowa) visitor center on Hwy 4 and meet there ~ 9:30.
