I would recommend the filling station on 528, just south of 550 at 8:45. I have a vague memory of hearing that it had closed though. Can anyone confirm this? If you miss that, then just head up to the Jemez Pueblo (Walatowa) visitor center on Hwy 4 and meet there ~ 9:30.

The fuel station at 528/550 is closed but the property is open for us to loiter on!

Are you boys talking about the Conoco on the SE corner where we traditionally meet? It's closed?

Isn't there a new station just west (across 528) from the Super Walmart? How about we pick that since some people might want to fill up before heading out.

If wives and kids are maybes depending on who else comes, my wife, 11 y.o. daughter and 13 y.o. son will be with me.

closer, closer...

I want snow, not rain.

I think the higher elevations might see snow, so we may be in luck. My fiancé and I are coming and her mother is coming with us as well.

What ever you are driving, make sure you have someplace front and rear to safely attach a strap or winch cable.

Ya, I think that will do.

I'll show up at the closed down gas station 528/550 somewhere between 8:30-8:45. The gas at Wallatowa is usually quite reasonable so I'll top off there if needed.

It goes w/o saying, plan for the worst, hope for the best. This includes, extra change of clothes for the kids, extra food/snack, water and of course recovery gear. I hope to get stuck and often!!

Too much rain. Not enough white stuff. Expect mud. Where are we going?

Also, a radio is a good idea. CB will work. Ham is best.

I was thinking take 126 past Fenton Lake, toward Cuba and then head north to get to the higher elevations with the fir and spruce trees.

I really think I can make this run. My 40 isn't ready yet but my Tundra should be fun. I'm not sure if the wife and little one can join but I need to get some dirt under my tires. Is there anyone headed out from SF?
