any experience bonding very thin metal to styrofoam sheets? Essentially laminating 1" styrofoam b/n very thin metal sheets? An adhesive that wouldn't eat away the styrofoam. Thx

Sorry can't recommend an adhesive for that purpose.
Bought this sweetie today

Thanks for the literature:) the camper came with all the original brochures and paperwork. I love having that stuff. Thanks Ron it should be a fun rig for us to hang in:)

You should downsize this, modify it to fit a 40. That would be cool! HaHa!

Nice build bro, I've done this swap earlier this year, did a 77 chinook I DD for about a year while waiting for my dream truck to come along for the 4x4 swap. The cabin is now sitting on a 1st gen frame, 1980 round eye. ;) yeah buddy! Will be soon re-gutting it though for a new revamped design. And redoing the insulation with some frame supports aswell. What are saying about the vibration dampening? Can you post a picture of were you put that silicone? I may try this for build.

Looks good! I'm dying to get back to AZ to finish mine next month. One thing you should reinforce is the upper metal frame. As you know the square tube is compressed to form a right angle. The channel that runs under the fiberglass of the roof section will dip down in the middle if it hasn't already. Mine was slightly sagging to the center which allows for pooling of water in the roof. Make sure the inner lip is elevated with a jack and then weld some supports from main part if the square tube. It made my roof section a lot more solid.

Bro, when you get back to Arizona, please post up some pictures, I would love see your rig so far, and especially the roof supports, we're exactly are you talking? The actual pop top roof, or the upper rail of the actual chinook framing?

Thank you:) I will be reinforcing the roof as well. The motor swap was a total PITA!!! But I filled her with fluids today and...... When the fuel started flowin she fired right up:) super pumped to have that chore behind me. On to the flatbed and moving the axle back.
