First off on setting the B pillar, I did as instructed by MT....centered the B pillar in the center of the most forward of the two bolt holes. It seemed to put the B and C pillars too close together. So for the B pillar I set it at 1.5 and 1.5, and the C pillar all the way toward the back sweep on the plate.

Threw the doors and windshield on for fitment purposes. It fits, but its REALLLY TIGHT if you wanna roll the windows down.

A few shots of all the pillars tacked in and is also as far as I had time to go today.
Cant wait to get the rest of it together. Its already getting me jazzed.
The trimming of the notches takes the LONGEST!
Me being OCD doesnt help much either.

Dude, looks great! Tunnel came out awesome, I agree, don't F w/ grinding those welds down. Spray it and be done.

Mace: Are those platinum harnesses one's that you would recommend for a trail rig that sees a large amount of DD time in the summer? I read through the Pirate tech article on harnesses and there are just a ton of GD options. W/o having ever been strapped in, I really don't know what to expect from all the different styles. That cam-lock style seems to be more DD friendly.

cam locks are not that great for a wheeler IMHO.

Most off road racing organizations do not permit them at all..

DD you might want to go to a 2" wide shoulder belt.

Keith,

I know there are people that incorporate both styles of belts. The main reason is for the reason(s) you mentioned, convenience and comfort. 4/5 points are great for protection but suck major for putting on multiple times. Most people start out with good intentions, then after a while, they maybe use the lap belt. Most people are used to and will use a 3 point seatbelt. JMHO.

The 40 is looking great and the tunnel is awesome.

Does a cam lock allow for more in cab movement?
Are there a lot of different options for harnesses? I guess ill have to investigate.

Thanks Jack!
Nice to have you post up in here!
Ive gotta wait to get the seats in before I can bend the shifters and hopefully shorten the throw on the two closes to the midline of the rig. Im planning on bending them back and in toward the center.
Im glad that I took my time with the tunnel and made it how I wanted it vs. just slappin some s*** in there Id hate everytime I got in it.

Appreciate the props. It was a lot of work.

Thanks Ewheeler!

Seat belts

Do the 5 points have ANY give at all, or are they a fixed position? One of the main things I am concerned with re. the 5 point would be for when I need to see better for obstacles...for example, leaning out to see.

I get your message. Im considering that further as its a very good point.

You are the voice of reason and is why I value your input so highly.

You can get 5 points with auto recoil instead of tying off to bar. Corbin makes them I think.

RCI platinum really are the best bang for the buck..

I actually just used to use the lap belt. Over time I have gotten really comfortable with the entire setup. I prefer it now. You just let the seat and belts hold you in.

If you have the stock belts. There is no reason you could not run both..

I have had 5 points in my 40 since about 90...

I was looking at the platinum harness in the Summit catalog in my "office" today.
Its something to consider.
I guess that I didnt really think about the aspect that most of the time, ill have no doors or half doors and a bikini top on which is a big contrast from the 62.

That tunnel turned out sweet!

And all this harness info is nice to read because it's something I know little about.

Did you ever come up with a solution for your shock location in the rear?

thanks for the props on the tunnel!
