Chevy v8 swap

looking at buying a 1995 fj80 the seller has a 1998 chevy v8 with tranny and transfer case to go with it can this be swapped into the fj80 thanks

I should probably clarify that anything is possible, and that's probably a bad combo for a swap

You’ll want to keep your Toyota TC. But you sure are going to a lot of trouble just to replace ‘95 with a ‘98

It can be done but that motor and tranny is better suited to have a chain attached and used as a boat anchor. If you are going to do all the work required in a V8 swap at least go for a Vortec or LS. Multi port fuel injection is leaps and bounds beyond what you have there.

TBI V8 is the worst one GM ever made. BTDT. Yes, it can be done, but it's not worth it. In fact, the stock 1fz-fe makes about the same power, but is much smoother and better built.

Not a bad motor for an FJ 40 swap, but not worth it in an 80.
