I just installed mine as well. Super bright. My wife noticed immediately backing out of our garage tonight. So far no radio interference. I was expecting some.

can somebody that has installed the Cree Q5 LED confirm the ebay vendor?

I do a search on: "cree Q5 1156 led back up" and I get a list ranging from $15 to $42.

If I follow this thread, I am particularly interested in the lense giving directional distance, rather than the OEM design spec as an indicator, to simply warn others you are backing up.

I used pfran42 off of mud. That is his mud name just look him up and tell him what you want. He has a thread on here showing a bunch of the different lights. I ordered them and had them at my house in like two days. Good product, and service.

Yes they give much better light output for distance instead of just being an indicator.

I've had these lights for a while. Picked them up because I've got Limo tint over the privacy glass and it's hard to see what's behind at night. The only issue I have is that it washes out my backup camera at night.
It's one of those ebay cameras that goes to infrared in dark conditions. Been living with it, but it's almost useless now.

Looks like there are 7w LED's on the market. not sure if this is an evolution of the 5w and is something new.

Has anybody tried the 7w?

I just installed these a few days ago. They are VERY bright & I like having the side firing leds to fill in.

Got these installed tonight Car 120 LED 3528 SMD 1156 White Fog Light Lamp Bulb 12V,C | eBay

Took about 2 weeks shipping and look great. Are they Super bright? They are brighter than the 1156's and project a very white light. I would say they are not blow you away brighter. I was originally worried about that with 120 LED's but no need to. I also got some of the 36mm 6 LED dome lights for my FJ40s.

I have one that is burned out as well. I started getting the noise in reverse some time ago which is annoying enough to make me go back to incandescents.

I recently put a set of these in my VW:

BMW CANBUS 1156/BA15S CREE Q5 5W Xenon White LED Car Reverse Tail Bulb

I am fairly impressed. I think they honestly are the 5w emitter they say they are and have the power supply they say they do. They also didn't trip the bulb-out diagnostic in the VW that nobody in an 80 series has to worry about.

At half the cost I am considering these for my cruiser:

2 x 5W 12V 1156 Pure White LED Turning Indicator Function Light Bulbs For Car

And i base that strictly on the photos making it appear that they really have 5w Cree emitters in them. They don't have a power circuit that makes a car with canbus diagnostics happy and that probably cuts the cost down too.

But it's academic until i tweak my neutral safety switch.

Mine never caused any interference to the stereo, maybe because I never use FM? Only the Sirius and iPod.
