My Check Engine Light came on this week. I have read all the posts on how to pull a code and I have the FSM. Here is my problem. When I use the paper clip placed in the E1 and TE1 terminals of the DLC, and then turn the ingnition switch to ON, the Check Engine Light just stays lit. It does not flash and so I am not getting any code. Am I doing this wrong. Is there a trick to how you insert the paper clip. Any idea's or help will be greatly appreciated.

Try taking it to Autozone, advanced auto, etc. They read codes for free with the reader. I don't think Pep Boys will so call first.

No go for a 94... I'm pretty sure Autozone, et. al. only translate codes from ODB II vehicles.

Sorry, no help on the lack of code though...

Oops, missed that Doug. I know Toy Car Care here in Denver also dumps codes free. Maybe if you call around you can find a place that can do that for you.
