I purchased these and returned them. The have a little plastic ball as a pivot and in no way represent the OEM lifts.
I did, however, find that Autozone sells the Mighty Lift Part # 4813, which are the ones referred to in this thread. They're for 33 a piece. I just ordered them and I'll update you to confirm that they are the same.
I am getting ready to do this mod cause my lift supports are getting really weak and I don't want to use a stick......again. (bought some used ones last time.....don't do that!, they lasted about a year.) Started doing some research trying to find the 95237 supports listed here and didn't find much. Finally I found a cross reference for it and looked it up "backwards". Doing this I learned that the strut that works for this mod is one for the hood on a late 80s model Acura Legend. Look for a hood support for a 1987 Acura Legend and you will find what you need, regardless of the part #. By the way, I found these lift supports at Oreilly's. They are listed as Part # "Oreilly's-Mightylift 95237"......for $25.99. There is also one made by Strong Arm Lift Support Part #4813.
well done to peytonkristen for tracking them down like that.
That said, the only concern I have about this is the boring out of the $25 strut mount to such a large diameter.
I realize it's necessary for the application to work.
But have to wonder if metal fatigue at the thinnest/narrowest point(the end) will eventually crack and fail. I'd be more confident if this were oem strength steel instead of chinese aftermarket.
My hatch is getting a little heavy in the arms too, especially in colder weather. 55$ (with shipping) seems like a good deal for something that is supposed to be a stock replacement.

Just did this install yesterday. This is a great upgrade!!! My glass lid opens to 9' high now!
I have a drill press. If you don't have one I'm not sure how you will get a good 1/4" drill bit bite in the rivet to center it and drill it out with out opening it up too much.
The old ugly mean guy at ACE hardware gave me the wrong size nylon washers, so as luck would have it, the new shocks ( I bought a year ago) had a pkg of 2 nylon washers.
You may not need to drill out the brackets to 1/2 inch...IMO 1/4" would fit with the mentioned above machine screw. Gotta have that lock nut though!!!

Thanks for the write up. I got tired of bashing my head on the corner of the rear hatch. I found a pair of Mightylift D95237's at a local Autozone $56.29 for both after taxes. It goes pretty fast with a drill press. I went with the grade 5 bolts.
I also ordered the hood struts D95950 and D95951 for $22.99 ea since nobody had them in town.
