When I bought the truck, the plastic was all cracked and broken so i pulled it off along with the adhesive below. Got a buddy of mine with a leather shop to cut me out a piece that fit perfectly.

Much improved and a nice idea. I might have shaved down the edges of the plastic a little to wrap the leather under. I suspect cleaning the little crack there where the leather sits atop the console will be entertaining.
