I have a 99 uz100 LandCruiser that has an issue where the CDL button on the dash is not responding with no light on dash either when being pressed while in H. So I shifted to L to test which worked fine as usual and CDL light appeared.
Then I shifted it back to H with CDL button pressed in and then depressed CDL button expecting it to be the usual hear the actuator move then drive forward and back and the CDL light to go off.

This has not happened and is stuck 4wd with the CDL light on. When I press the CDL button nothing happens and I can feel it is still locked.

I am thinking possibly the board on the switch is fried but does anyone else have an idea?

Unplug the actuator and clean the terminals. Why would you think the most likely problem is the board? Unless my memory has failed me, the switch is a switch.

Is the vehicle new to you? Has the CDL button ever worked? It is possible it could be a sticky sensor that prevents it from coming on. There is a thread on here about using a Beck Arnley part to make it work.

Yes, if 100 is new to you, search Pin-7 mod (only 98-99 model years apply). Also, once CDL is locked, it doesn’t always unlock instantly. But loose ground/dirt and gentle turns plus a regularly exercised CDL motor certainly helps.

for what its worth I also ran into the same issue and it ended up being a bad board. Got lucky and found someone selling that entire dashboard piece with the buttons and board for $50 bucks.

From what I read in other threads about CDL light issues, it could be related to the switch on the transfer case. But I'm not sure exactly which combination of symptoms this method resolves. (I think it's for CDL light never turns on, but when CDL button is pressed, click is heard, and actuator engages, and the truck obviously has CDL locked and harder to turn. Another press on the button, CDL disengages. Just no CDL light in this entire process.)

This is the part: "Beck/Arnley 201-1788 Back-Up Switch":

Also need a 27mm wrench to take off the switch:

Update: Purchased a stock LC 100 Bezel but with manual AC/Heater control only (non Climate control) plug it in and CDL + Hazards now work but AC functions are no longer working. New CDL/Hazard mini PCB is different to the original one and tried to swap the PCB's with the original but the CDL + hazards also does not work.
At least been able to unlock the CDL to drive the car.

I guess the next question is there a way to bypass the Climate control to make it a manual system as it is extremely hard to locate a Climate control style AU 100 series bezel.
