INGRID IS ON THE BLOCK
(1983 FJ60 - November 82 Build - 130,000 odo)

Times are tough but this stable change is due to good news…

May 15th is the day my fiancé and I are to be wed, and no matter how we crunch and shave the numbers…we are financially screwed as it relates to paying for it. We have had a lot of help from family and friends (She brought a pretty nice dowry to the table) but my billable hours have plummeted 75% and she recently took a very challenging and rewarding job working with at-risk youth at the High School, a job that while rewarding, doesn’t pay very much.

( a nano-second before she realizes she’s being proposed to at Park Ave. Arches CM09 )

So…

My objective is to stay in the Cruiser world but with a truck that is relatively stock in place of a Cruiser that is pretty well finished. Many of you are already aware of Ingrid the 60 but here are the details:

Trapper, where did you score that TEQ sticker for the hood? I'm looking for something HUGE like that.

BTT for a beautiful 60! If I hadn't just put a new engine into my 80 we might have been talking.

I'm a Graphic Designer, So I did the layout myself, then had Signarama of Aurora produce a professional grade vinyl applique with a matte finish overlay to protect it. It does have its drawbacks...One has to be careful at spray carwashes, the spray pressure slowly but surely degrades the adhesive on the edges. It was about 80 bucks and you have to know what you're doing when you apply it...since the hood is already showing primer, i figured it was no biggy. I could have just removed it before spraying (painting) the hood. Or not, maybe just spray up to the edge then clear it all. Currently, I have exacto-d off the bits that let go, it now sorta has an old wax letter stamp/makers mark thing goin' on...its tasteful

The company has since changed names:

Shows how good my body guy was. He did not replace this metal, he reformed it...nowhere on this quarter is there more than a 1/16th inch of filler. (He did replace metal in the fender wells where it was gone obviously...from a donor quarter cut that I had.)

He's a bit eccentric....he told me he loves old Toyota metal because, " it has such a great memory, it WANTS to go back to where it was..."

Good luck with the sale. You did one heck of a job with that build and what a thorough ad you have posted. I wish you the best. Again, one of the nicest ads I have seen...

As noted in post#7 (the final post of the initial "For Sale" Post....The Intake/Exhaust gasket was leaking due to over torquing the Remflex Gasket. Below are the pics of todays work to solve that. It went perfectly and is now running better than any 2F has the right to...

heres what happens when you over torque a Remflex

She's Tip-Top!

Congrats for finding a beautiful woman.
I hope things work out for you two. BUMP For a Capable 60

Okay,

A little, adventure today revealed a small issue that has happened to a few folks here on mud.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/winching-recovery/248747-warn-winch-issue.html

A cruiser buddy of mine also owns one of those old 70's stationwagons that was customized for small school outings, you know the ones, 4 doors on each side + the ramble seat in the back facing the other way that makes kids carsick. Long as a limo but just not ritzy or opulant....

Well, he called me today because I have a winch and he doesn't and that 5 ton land-leviathan had been plowed in pretty deeply and had been tagged for being there too long. Ingrid to the rescue!

Since the road was pack snow, I had to get Ingrid into position then he used a tow rope from his 80 to my hitch to "anchor" me while I winched. 4 repositions and re-anchors later, the mighty monster was free.

However, I experienced the same problem that the afore-linked thread was describing. leads out every time with the flip of a switch, takes 10 or 15 depressions of the button to get it to start drawing line in. I think this seems to be more of a nuisance than a problem but I wanted to be up front with everyone. As far as I'm concerned, the truck is priced fairly enough that this issue won't be changing the price...

One guy on a Nissan site described the problem exactly and said it ended up being a bad hand controller....FWIW

jt, answer from this weekend, from the pic above, i can tell that i did replace the rad.

Thanks Ige....

OKAY, so everyone is on the same page, a status update....

Spade was first person to show interest, he has not responded to a PM I sent telling him the sharks were circling a bit. And he has not committed verbally.

The Couple from Colorado Springs has shown strong interest and is supposed to be getting me pics of their 80, They have not expressed specifically the desire to buy outright if I either don't want their 80 or we can't agree on what its worth etc. but I got the feeling they would consider it.

The Gentleman from North Carolina has expressed interest for outright purchase. (After backpedalling on FJ62 trade....jk, man...I don't blame you)

The Gentleman from Portland, OR (knows of the Toad) has expressed interest for outright purchase, he is the most recent to do so.

I am currently in the process of getting an LX450 in Colorado inspected to see if that's the truck I want.

As of now, the order is:

North Carolina has until Friday with 1st right of refusal

Colorado Springs couple has 2nd right of refusal.
(This will be based on the outcome of the LX450 inspection and pics of their 80 and discussions of potential arrangements)

Spade has 3rd right of refusal although since I haven't heard from him, he may have bowed out already.

Portland has 4th right of refusal as an outright purchaser.

UPDATE:

The gentleman from Connecticut, asked if I was flexible on price, I said I thought it was priced fairly and that there were 4 other interested parties
and he hasn't communicated since, but officially, he is 5th

The Gentleman from Costa Rica is officially 6th

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: (also at end of thread)

SALE PENDING TO FIRST POTENTIAL BUYER - AWAITING FUNDS TRANSFER TUESDAY

Please keep in mind that if the LX checks out, then outright purchase is what will be desired.

if it doesn't than the trade option is back in play.

Thanks for playing. -THIS VEHICLE IS SOLD -
