Smog Equipment is LONG GONE...

and minus straight-piping the Cat, it's about as desmogged as they come.

This is the only thing that I have to figure out.

But I would agree, its her special day and you need to make sure she enjoys it... granted you should enjoy it too.

As a hypothetical....(sp?)

If someone lived in a large urban area...say one with emissions requirements and testing...one could find a relative in a smaller rural county....say one that didn't have emissions testing...and one could maybe register it at that relatives address and have the renewal notices forwarded....

just a theory, don't know if this theoretical loophole has been closed.

Or...
Some states, I think, still have the 25yr old regulation still in place instead of the 1976 cutoff, at which point the truck is exempt. (to my understanding)

SPADE:
It appears that (in the bit of research I have done) that Idaho DMV construes 30 years old as "Classic Plate" worthy. But it also says that the vehicle should have no major modifications from Stock...HArd to say where the line is on that one. But another site I read said that the only county that requires yearly testing is Northern Ada County. This is by no means a complete answer but maybe on the right track...

Hahaha. Yeah subsequently I lived in Ada county and they suck about emissions, but your right; my family has property outside of that county. However I am currently out of state (restationed) and have to figure out what my restrictions are here. When in ada county they never required a full vehicle inspection, just smog which you could tip tow around. But here they actually take a look at whats going on. However I will figure it out and keep you posted. My budy just bought a new rig and has to go register it today so I will go with and ask some questions.

I'm kinda of amazed someone hasn't swooped in and bought it already!

I know "someone" who had their vehicle registered at a K-mart in a town 150 miles south of them so that they didn't have to register it in a smog county. This "person" did not run into any problems. Just sayin'.

Good luck with the sale!

Well,

I'm not trying to be pushy, just helpful:cheers:

Haha. Yeah no offence taken, actually the :princess: has been asking me every two minutes if I have figured the details out yet. The next thing I would have to worry about is shipping, which could be a trick, but I've gone through that before so no biggie. I'll shoot you a heads up when I figure it all out.:hhmm:

JT,

I'm sorry to see you selling Ingrid but I certainly understand. I remember when you returned to the campground after getting engaged and you guys were so excited! Good luck!

Jeff (with the Camo 40)

JT,

Hey, I just picked up a 93 FZJ80. It runs but needs a headgasket. When you sell your 60 you might be interested in it, let me know.

I was going to sell my 60 also and build the 80 but, I think I'm too attached to the 60.

Let me know, I'll throw in a bottle opener on the bumper free of charge!

Bump for an outstanding 60 series. One of the nicest I've ever seen. Sorry to see her go. The new owner will not be disappointed.

JT, if you ever get the itch to drive a 60 after this your welcome to get you fix with mine.
