OK, so I get my front passenger tire slashed(IN MY DRIVE WAY!!!!!), then I'm pulling the wheel and I get this!!!!

Can I just pull and replace?

I think your truck is complaining about the choice of oil filter. ;)

I appreciate the help. Cruiserdrew just did his SOA and is sending me one (Freds40, thanks for the tip;)).

As far as the filter choice..... Dang it! RockDoc, I think your right!:frown:

Oh well.

Oh yeah, HeartsCooksBrain, I will call you when the driver side breaks:doh:

Truth be told, I had a Fram on mine a while ago when I forgot to check my stash before changing my oil. :whoops:

And I thought that Puerto Rico roads were bad!!!:eek:

PS. Been using Fram for over 20 years (using Mobil One oil) no problems, however since I keep reading about how bad they may be, I switched to Mobil One filter.
:hhmm:

Ditto, Fram is all I used to use, till reading up here. Now I use the NAPA Gold (Wix).

Uh yeah... lack of founds and some corrupt everything has our Los Angeles roads in bad shape.

I do wonder though, why would it have broken?

Nice clean break! Let me know if you need the mount. I think you could just bolt it in, using bolts to replace the rivets.

I fitted these shocks in the front

Now I'm really worried that the same will happen to me :frown:. These shock mounts were obviously not designed to carry weight .

I will have to figure out a way to strengthen these mounts ( or carry a spare )

That looks just like how mine broke on the passenger side. The PO welded it back and then added some metal above it. It doesn't look pretty but has held up for now. I wonder if it could also be the aftermarket shocks? Maybe the travel is different on some shocks causing the suspension to still have travel after the shock travel ends.

Shocks don't carry weight. Check the truck ride height next time you swap shocks. You'll see there is no change with or without shocks.

There are at least a couple of threads here on modified Ford shock towers. Search!
