Very good point.

Shocks don't carry weight. Check the truck ride height next time you swap shocks. You'll see there is no change with or without shocks.

You may have the wrong length shocks on your rig. They may be acting as bump stops and would cause the problem you are seeing.

difference?

The Frams have a lower than average amount of filter media, a low first pass efficiency and a metal back flow valve that seals poorly if at all instead of neoprene that other filters use that actually works. Oddly, Wal Mart brand filters have a large amount of filter media, a very high first pass efficiency rating and a neoprene back flow valve. Oh, and they are dirt cheap. Guess what's on my Cruiser.

My Passenger side did that when I was running OME shocks with stock springs. Got it welded back together and it has held up fine. Twenty bucks.

Did you say your tire got SLASHED in your driveway ??

(LOL, btw on doc's filter comment)...

uh... yeah... thats how I found out that the shock tower was broken. While I was changing the tire.

I think I get it welded to start.... Any good welder in LA area?
NocalFJ60, you got a picture of your mount?

Cruiserdrew & D'animal, are they held by rivets, or nuts & bolts?

No, He didn't come by. I will do it for him the week after Turkey day.

I've just mounted the ford towers, they work great, and let me tell you, you'll never break em. They are super beefy, and have just enough angle to them to keep the shock well out of they way.
94[?] f250 4x4, $30 a piece. I drilled and tapped into the frame, then welded them on. The shock pin bolt holes were a little tight, but a 1/2 inch bit in a drill loosened them up. The old ones didn't want to come off the rivets, so they are a little beat up, but could easily be welded back on - all yours if you want em.

My registration was suspended. Looks like my insurance failed to notify DMV about my insurance being reinstated. I found out the hard way. :frown: TICKET! while driving the 80! That meant that the 60 suspended as well due to both being on the same policy. So I call everyone and it's all messed up! After faxing and calls... I finally get to go today to pick up 1 sticker and registration for both! :D

And now, I've got to get the ticket taken off... but thats another thread/story.

Dinosoar... will keep in touch.

thanks.

GAS - A - LOT came by this morning (cold - early - ice on the cruiser early!) I got the tower all welded up and sent him on his way. It was a strange break I don't know how it broke where it did. It's a mystery to me.

HEER-HEER!!!!!!:beer::beer: Dynosoar made sure if it breaks... It will brake somewhere else...

Sorry for the late post...:frown: holidays are over! :)

Thanks...:grinpimp:
