I've previously had a Speski Offroad barrier in my LX470 and was about to get another for my new 2003 LC but wanted to see what else was out there.

So far I've only come across Speski (Now owned by Wits End) and the ARB 1/2 Cargo barrier, part # ARB-COB100SA. I only see the barrier for the 80 series on the Wits' End site.

Any recommendations?

@NLXTACY is Wits' End... He purchased both and is in the process of finalizing production of the 100 series one from last I saw. Couple months and it will likely be available. Outside of that there are a few manufacturers that make "cargo net" type barriers but ARB and Wits' End are the only hard, mountable that I have seen.

Thanks for the update. I'll wait for the Wits' End one then.

Curiosity: From photos, it looks like the ARB uses screw knobs to attach to their drawer system, is that correct?

Nothing in here for the LX470 but you should just come and buy all of my Milford Cargo Barriers as I'm tired of tripping over them. You know what that means right......Super Unbelievable DEAL!! ;)

What you want for one of those 100 series Milford barriers? IIRC, they were pretty expensive if purchased from Milford distributors.

Retail is like $708 plus shipping . I think there is only 1 left for the 100 series.

MUD price - $90 plus shipping ;)

Works with 01/1998 - 07/2008 models

Do you have one for an 80 with rear AC?

You only want a hard one and not a net one like a Raingler?

The Raingler isn't a bad choice, but you will not be mounting things like an axe or fire extinguisher to it like you can with the rigid barriers.

Haven't really looked much at the ARB one, would rather support one of our small vendors here so.....

Anyways, when @NLXTACY has the 100 series barriers ready for purchase and whatnot, wife and I will be taking a special trip up there to grab. Will be taking my mtb to hit a few trails along the way. May even seen if I can convince him and his brother via beer (or spirits) bribery to allow me to install (and possibly help) while I am there. :hillbilly:

The big upside to a soft barrier is when you like to camp in your vehicle. You just unhook the bottom and roll them out of the way, sleep right under it.

Soft barrier is nice for that reason but without a frame, there is a gap on top and a 4 ft span without any fasteners. I would love to see barrier with a frame and a soft barrier.

Yeah and this is my issue. I take my dogs lots of places and the youngest has gotten his head (regardless of how gigantic it is) wedged in our removable "petsmart" version because he had it too far to one side. I see this happening more often than not with a soft barrier, hence the need for a hard one.
