UPDATE AS OF 3/19/2020

I have communicated with several old-time club members ("the Elders") and we all feel that it is best to officially cancel this breakfast. We encourage each of our members to be safe during these times. We will resume club activities once things settle down.

Let's have breakfast at The Daily Grind on the 21st at 9 am.

Daily Grind: 4360 Cutler Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110

*NOTE: We will be parking on the north east corner of the lot near the Daily Grind. There is a large, flat dirt/gravel pad where we can circle the wagons. This will enable some truck talk before/after we have breakfast.

We typically have our breakfast every 3rd Saturday.

I would say we keep the breakfast next weekend open/on as an option for those that wish to attend. I may not attend, since I am taking a more conservative view on the situation, until we better understand what we are dealing with.

The New Mexico Public Health Secretary announced new restrictions to restaurants and bars that would limit occupancy in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Secretary Kathy Kunkel issued the emergency order on Sunday.

This new order does effect our breakfast meeting, in that we cannot sit together as usual. Any thoughts on adapting to this new situation?
Life is going to be about adapting to a moving target, for a while. Like it or not.
NM4Wheelers, as an example, canceled their last general meeting , but are still doing day rides. Driving at least 6 ft apart, .
Seriously, we could get out for a Sat morning drive in the nearby country, order to go to support the Daily Grind. and take our breakfast with us.

Spoke to Greg the owner about patio seating and he has no issue with us reserving for our group. We'll have the tables apart, so that's a minor inconvenience. Truthfully, we prolly should minimize sitting so close to each other anyway, and may want to eat quickly then hang out more in the dirt lot. Perhaps bring chairs and setup the awnings? There are enough of us to line up the rigs front to back or side to side for a decent shade, I'd suspect.

He says only 45 people inside the restaurant as of now and he'd love to host us again.

I say we do our normal deal and punt as necessary.
