Can of worms, Early Wiper motors

Yes they did. There is a dead spot where the wiper should stop. The wiper switch feeds power to that dead spot to start the motor and keep it running until the switch is turned off. If a wiper spins to freely it could rotate past the dead spot and keep running. Or could have another issue. If it just stops as soon as you turn the switch off may have the two power leads switched.

Or the cancel plunger could be gummed up and not opening up the back to park contacts. Take it apart, contacts could be just dirty and the plunger stuck. John

Can you post a photo of the one you need to match up with? Need to see if it is a left or right cancel.

Here is my existing driversside motor

Yep it's winter for sure, was able to clean up some covers and shaft tubes with plates. The most prevalent worn out part is the arm shaft and the tube, shafts are worn off at the end from various set screws, and the brass tubes are broken off of the mount plate, cut off, stripped threads or FUBAR. Note the different stamping on the bottom cover, and yes most covers are all beat up. Lots of distractions going on lately, Disorganized shop right now. Some photo's. John
