I have a thread on oils attached below. You can use the Delo 400LE, however, it would be best to use the Delo 400 Multigrade 15W40. The LE (Low Emissions) is formulated to meet the 2007 and later diesel grade oil requirements. The Zinc and other friction modifiers have been removed or decreased to less than 400 ppm. The Multigrade still has 1600 ppm of Zinc which is essential for flat lifter camshaft style engines to have a long life.
The Delo 400 MG is harder to find but it is available. If you can't find it Pennzoil has a 25W50 Racing Oil labeled for off road use only with 2000 PPM of Zinc. It has a gray label.
If that fails use an additive like ZDDP or Comp Cams break in lube.

I put it in my 40 and it seems to run a really good oil pressure, plus I know it is cleaning out a really dirty engine I inherited from the PO.

I run the 15w-50 Mobil 1 in my rig, used to have to buy the single quarts but just saw that Walmart is now selling it in the 5 quart jug. Pretty solid deal

Damn I may actually have to break my rule and streak for that. Really REALLY HATE WalMart but that is almost to good a deal to pass up.
When I changed my oil a week ago, I found Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15W-40 at Pep Boys for a shelf price of either 17.99 or 18.99 and they had a 5.00 mail in rebate per one gallon jug. Called Napa, they had the oil for a comparable price but hadn't heard of the mail in rebate. I went there anyway to get the Napa Gold oil filter. Still made by Wix.

Sorry to raise an old thread but I've been researching this same topic and before I settle in on an oil brand I was hoping to clarify this point. In another thread someone points to this independent May 2013 analysis of Chevron Delo 400LE:

which shows that modern 400LE has nearly 1500 ppm zinc, highest of any in the 15w40 class evaluated.
Do you guys still think it needs an additive? I'm a newb so I'll defer to experience/reason but this seems pretty convincing.

Unless they have changed something recently every Blackstone that I have found on the web about the 400LE has shown the ZDDP in the 800-900 range. If this is true it is definitely a good buy as you can pick up a 3 gallon pack from Costco for like $28.

Every VOA I've seen for the Delo LE 15w40 had been under 1200ppm. I don't trust the study cited above. The Delo 15w40 Multigrade, yes... I think they fawked up the samples.
If the zinc conc of 1500ppm was verified, I'd use it in a heartbeat without additional zddp additive.

I just changed the oil on my fj62 and after reading through all the threads I came to the conclusion that Chevron Delo 15 40 LE was the way to go so that's what I used.
Do I need to drain that and put something els win it?

As long as you put a quality oil in it, I wouldn't worry about it. Add a bottle of ZDDP additive if it makes you feel better about it.

The testing laboratory PQIA utilizes is accredited to ISO 17025 A2LA, the highest level of quality attainable by a testing laboratory, and we recheck any results that appear inconsistent. In this case, the zinc and phosphorus results are in the correct ratio and we had no reason to suspect any laboratory errors.
While it is not uncommon for different laboratories to give different metal test results, the differences you noted are more than we would expect. Chevron's Product Data Sheet for this product shows typical zinc and phosphorus levels of 0.13% and 0.12% respectively, which are right between the results you have seen and those from PQIA. We have no way of knowing whether Chevron may have changed the formulation and suggest you contact them directly to determine the correct typical levels for these elements.
