Does anyone know if front bucket seats from another type of car can be used in an FJ60? I'm looking for something used, maybe from a junkyard or ad? What I'd like is something with maybe a lumbar support and/or higher or more comfortable for long trips. I want to see if I can find something inexpensive, used. But I've no idea what woulf fit, like from what type of car and which model years. Does anyone know?

do a search, alot of people have swapped seats from other cars

Most any type of mid-size (import) car or truck seat will fit.It might not excactly fit the mounts, but with some 3/16"x1 1/2" strap you can remove whatever slider tracks are on the donor seats and fit them to the stock 60 sliders.

im thinking about honda accord seats

I took the 99' accord seats out and measured them next to the land cruiser seat. I think all that is necessary is some 1 inch angle aluminum or steel to adapt the LC sliders to the honda sliders. The honda seats are very firm and not all mushy like the worn out foam in the cruiser. So Ill be on the look out for some 99 - 02 accord front seats in grey. BTW the back seat wont even come close to fitting so the front seats will not match the bench seat. Oh well...price u pay for comfort.

the slides on the honda seats are a lot longer and a little wider stance but only about 1 inch wider so the angle will bring it in and also put the LC sliders on the same plane with the honda seats. It will be necessary to cut the legs of the honda sliders so the legs arent hanging out in the rear passengers foot space.

I had to put the honda seat back in my honda ...cuz thats my commuter vehicle but i just wanted to see if it was feasable.

I did put the honda seat in the front seat space of the land cruiser and it seems to be a good fit.

id like to find a bench seat that will fit in the front of my 62. not sure what will fit though because of the width

Sorry, it's not Landcruiser specific, but I put seats from a 92 Toyota Paseo into my 82 Toyota Pickup, and it was pretty much a direct bolt in. Very nice seats actually. Worth a look. I guess my point is, steer yourself toward Toyota products and perhaps the swap will go easier since perhaps they all use similar type of mounting systems and hardware.

"Comfort"??!!?? What's next......

If you have a limited number of wrecking yards in your area, like I do, I wouldn't worry too much about the exact model of vehicle. Take a few measurements from your cruiser (seat height, width, width of mounting brackets, etc.) and then go hit the wrecking yard with your measuring tape. I must have looked at 500 different vehicles, and ultimately my decision was made by finding a seat in decent condition. There were dozens of seats that would have been perfect if they hadn't been sitting out in the yard in a car with no windows for the past year.

Good luck. I ended up with cloth seats from a '01 Camry. Driver side is power.

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread... But just wondering if anyone has installed Honda Accord seats? I've read that the 88-95 ish Accord seats work great. If so, were you able to just use the LC rails and bolt up the Accord seats to it?

If you are going to do any rock crawling, my suggestion would be to get some aftermarket seats with large side bolsters. I rode in a Jeep this weekend through a rock garden that had some nice seats with large bolsters in it, and they made a huge difference! No more sliding around in the seat or bouncing separate from the truck. I felt like I was one with the rig.

yeah don't know that i could justify em in my rig as much as it'll see actual driving and not just wheeling but, my buddys got beard seats in his runner and there the nicest seats ive ever sat in

Yeah, I understand the bolstered seats... So what about some older Celica seats (maybe Honda Prelude seats of the same vintage of the Accord)? Would those bolt straight up? I'm looking for a lazy route for something I could bolt up without much trouble or fab work, and would like to get some cheaper used seats and put the $$$ towards some gears and longfields...
