i have a 98 lx470 and the factory keyless entry system. I have to press unlock twice in a row to unlock all doors, otherwise one press only unlocks driver door. Is there a way to program the system so that one press unlocks all?

This is the pinnacle of first world problems, I hope you do figure this out soon. Double clicking takes to long... seriously I am wasting my life with double clicks. If no solution can be attained I suggest you rip the doors off all together. Problem solved... works in 40 series.

Go with an aftermarket system. The increased range alone makes it a worthwhile upgrade. Remote start and other features are a bonus.

I agree that this might be the best solution overall. The range of the stock one is really bad so that would kill many birds with one stone. Any good reference for an aftermarket alarm system? I haven't had to buy one before.

My solution: I never lock my doors. Can't waste my life clicking a lock. :-)

I'm not sure about your LX, but on my wife's 2010 Prius, there was a programming option, the procedure was in the owners manual, which allowed me to change the remote to unlock all the doors with one click.

Strange, I've been very impressed with the range on my 2001 LC. It works hundreds of feet away for me, and I routinely lock and unlock the truck from inside my house, which I can't do with either my Prius, or my BMW.

I would really enjoy that, unfortunately many of us have to be touching the vehicle to be in range lol. (not kidding, personal experience).

Yup same here , it varies but some of the time I literally have to be about 8 feet from the vehicle at best.

You're lucky. I've never heard of that range on these trucks. Even my wife's '11 LX has a terrible range.
