I've been wanting to that forever!

LCA mounts gettin' burned on. Mark swapped the welding shorts for loafers and designer jeans...

Still lots to do, but it should be downhill from here.

It sits a little ass-high, like an OME lift, but not quite as bad. As soon as you put any weight in the back it starts to level out. With me, my tools, and a full tank of gas it should be close.

It definitely needs some 35's.

So what height lift (for an 80) is that? And those are 285's?

Looks good by the way!

Wow. Very impressive. Some dudes, a car port and a tolerant wife!

I agree that the "ass high" is a good thing. Your fridge, spare parts, and gear for a week on the road, will level it right out.

The tires do look small.

When does the FF axle go in?

How about a shot from below and behind, looking up at the suspension and panhard?

Beyond nice work Cam (& crew )! Piggybacking on Andy's wife comment: Diamonds, resort vacation, all day spa treatment in store for your better half?!

Or all the above?!

Thanks! This is probably equivalent to a 4" lift in an 80. These are 3" OME heavy springs, 863/850J.

I just looked up the curb weights, and similarly equipped 60s are 700-800 lbs lighter than 80s which would explain the extra height.

Yeah, these are worn down 285's.

The panhard is one of the things left, as well as the sway bar. I'll post up some pics once those are in.

I'm not sure on the FF. I need to clean up the carport (which still has a pile of crap from the engine swap), get the FF housing cleaned up and replace some missing/nasty parts. So, probably the weekend before the Utah test drive!

I also still need to rebuild the front axle and get my front ARB installed.

Shhhh... I've finally broken her spirit and have her thinking this is normal:D

I should probably send some booze to the neighbors - actually I probably should have done that when I started!

That's right and she's been working OT to pay for the build. Awesome.

Regarding the neighbors-just toss some empties over the fence. I'm sure that will suffice.

Yeah, my theory exactly was that a stock 60 body/bumpers on an 80 frame with stock 80 suspension would be similar to a1-2" lift, just due to the lack of leather, sunroof, etc. Factor in an all-aluminum V8 and a lighter manual transmission and that's another 3-4 hundred pounds.

I'll see how it sits as I drive it everyday. Since it is so easy to change the springs, I could get a shorter rear for normal use and swap these in for trips.

Or if it levels out after driving it a bit, I could add a spacer for trips. Lots of options that you don't have with the leafs.

I'll bet that 80 frame is a hundred or two of the extra weight. Those are definitely much beefier.

The manual and aluminum motor should get that back.

How much do those rear inside-the-coils bumpstops compress? Like it you take it off a sweet jump?

We stuffed the rear axle with tires, but no springs and I still had lots of room to go up, even if
I had bigger tires. All of the bracketry tucked up nice and still left a little path for the exhaust guy.

I thought about ditching those and just running the frame stops. Unlike the front, there is still a spring locator thing built into the bucket.

I'm bringing you my frame stops with extensions tomorrow.

Looks like there'll be good cigar weather in the carport this time.
