I would be more exciting and would not take as long to finish.

Didn't someone say, "I'm very fast, but good?" ;-)

Yep. FJ60Cam vs Beno.

You're lucky, Beno just had knee surgery which slowed him a bit. You could go over to his house with a golf club and take out his other knee to really keep him on the sidelines. Kind of like that ice skating chick.

We got the motor placed as best as we could figure. We didn't really seem to have many options.

Here it is sitting on the mounts, with a bottle jack under the transmission. It's only tacked, so I left the chains in place, but all the weight is on the mounts.

We got it 100% stripped down today (except the fuel lines), and the mounts booger-weldered in.

I need to clean and paint the frame rails and new mounts. I also got some metallic doo-doo brown factory color paint for the inner fenders. They look like crap from battery acid and ARB solenoids, and they'll be highly visible now, so while I'm in there...

New rattlecan paint I got online...

Once her make-up is on, it's time to go back together!

Looking good, glad your taking your time and doing it right. Just read the whole thread and its been close to 24 hours of paint drying! Lets see melted rubber and receipt for new tires!!

Well, we ended up spending yesterday cutting out the motor mounts and playing with the motor placement some more. After looking at some other threads, I was afraid I was too low and was giving up some diff/oil pan clearance. It was a nagging thought that wouldn't go away.

Sucks, but better safe than sorry.

We were able to get it up slightly higher. We also got it moved back some and over ever so slightly to the drivers side, all of which will help.

There still isn't alot of uptravel available for stuffing the passenger front tire, but I won't know how much til I can flex it after all the mounts & crossmembers are welded.

It may barely work as is. If not, the short term solution is to lower the bump stop. Long term would be more lift. That was already my long term plan anyway.

It's a minor setback, but the goal is still to have it in for good by the end of the (holiday) weekend.

I dropped the truck off at East Coast Customs. They're almost done, it just needs some clear coat.

You probably have a lot less up travel than you think.

You got this

I didn't have much to begin with, especially after I lowered my bumpstops an inch to keep my tires out of my fender.

I've lost some weight up front now, so it sits a little higher than with the 2F. I'll probably still have the same up travel, I might just have to limit it on the passenger side.

Now we just need to whip up a rear crossmember.

Nice cam! Looks great!

Well, it for sure can't go any higher. It looks like all of our measuring payed off. The hood(liner) is just barely touching the engine cover. And I need ithe cover on to hide the plumbing & electrical.

I think it is in its happy place. Any farther forward and it would have to drop to clear the hood. Can't really go back any further either. The manifolds are just barely squeezed between the frame rails. And the t-case seems to be lined up like stock.

To do all of that we have it sitting just slightly off square at the radiator. I think one mount is 1/2"-3/4" further back than the other. It put the t-case in a bad spot if it was square.

We got a crossmember started, but I need to rework it a little.

That's all for today.
