We are re-using the stock transmission cooler hard lines. They are routed nice and tight, so why not. We cut the ends off at the front of the motor. Perfect place to tie in.

Doing that s*** in your driveway.......

I had a neighbor that almost killed me when Julie and I first were married. I did that s*** all the time. His bedroom window was toward my garage. Every time I welded at night he would come out and raise hell because the light. I would have to stop hammering at an early hour.

Last neighborhood I ever lived in that had a close house. 12 years ago.

Run whatcha brung...

I can see why a lot of builds start with a shop build though. I had to set up and tear down every time I wanted to do something to the motor. That wastes a lot of time. Now that's it's in, it won't be so bad.

My neighbors are cool with it. We live right next to the train tracks, so anything short of automatic weapons fire doesn't register as a nuisance to them.

Great work Cam!

She's officially a roller now. I got the rear crossmember in place. Time will tell if my bootyfab is sturdy enough and my boogers sticky enough. It didn't even flex when I set the weight on it though.

I used 1x3, .120 wall. It sounded bigger when I ordered it. I'd go a little bigger if I was doing it again, just because. I ordered a 6' piece online, because the local steel supplier only sells it in 20' pieces.

I tacked the top nuts on the bracket for easy installs.

This is definitely lighter than the old drivetrain, plus the weight has shifted back some. With all the weight on the springs, it sits at least an inch higher. It's got a slight anti-stinkbug right now. Hopefully when I get the front bumper on it will level out.

When are you doing the spring over?

Cross member looks perfectly good.

I made a little progress today. I got the wiring harness on.

I hit a snag with the cam position sensor plug. The factory setup has a pigtail in a metal bracket to snake around the pulleys. My harness had the wire length to ditch the stock pigtail, but it had the connector that plugs into the pigtail, not the sensor. They are close, but not interchangeable.

No big deal in the end, I just swapped the connector. It just took a 30 minute detour to learn how.

This explains why I thought this section was too long earlier. It's perfect now.

I also thought the main branch of wiring to the computers was too long and on the wrong side of the truck.

It is actually just positioned differently from stock and setup so you could place it on either side of the truck. By coming up back over the intake, it exits the cover and sits on the driver fender just like stock. Just how I wanted it. I'm super happy with the harness.

I also got the heater hoses routed. I went with new Gates 5/8" all around, plus one Toyota elbow from Beno. The return pipe on the water pump is actually a 3/4 - getting the hose on was a b!tch, but kept from having to add a reducer in the line. I ran them under the engine cover to keep my fender clean.

I think I've got the radiator hoses figured out. The top hose is a Gates 22358. Im adding a steam vent fitting from Jags That Run in the upper hose that will add some length and allow me to rotate the last elbow to the correct position.

This hose is 1-1/4", and the Toyota radiator is 1-1/2", but it supposed to be able to be squeezed on.

Said steam vent fitting. It also has a sight glass and an air bleeder.

The bottom hose is a Gates 22310. With the end cut off it is dang near perfect.

I will wait to install the radiator. I'm still waiting on the JTR steam vent thing, and it sure is nice being able to reach in from the front. But, it's all figured out so it will fly together.

Thanks! I can't wait to peel the stale rubber off my tires.

It's just down to all the little time consuming details right now. All the bolt-on fun is over.

Also, my money tree seems to have stopped blooming. I still need two cats, a muffler and the driveshafts re-worked. Other than that all my parts are here or are on the brown truck.

Good deal! I'd say I'd Lind a hand but I'm sure you don't stay up late! I work nights so my nights are days and days are nights. Great progress for sure. I have a few extra 5.3 parts lyring around in the shop if you may need any of it. Thanks for the updates.

True, I don't have to have them, and I do have the rear O2 sensors deleted, but I like the clean fresh (non)scent of a catted exhaust. Especially since I'll be likely to DD it.
