I edited my first post to arrive in Ouray on 8/3. I was able to get an extra day off. :bounce:

I have to bail on reservations at 4J+j+1 CG for the 3, 4, 5 and 6. If anybody wants to take them over, please PM me, or call me at 505 two 8 6 one 803. Thanks.

Just saw this thread - I'm going to be there two weeks before you guys! One of these times I'm actually going to make one of your runs and/or meetings.
 
We are in just made reservations at 4J+j+1, looking forward to doing Black Bear. We plan on leaving on the 3rd, what time is everybody else leaving. Maybe we can follow?
 
I have reservations for Aug 3-6 and I'm looking forward to this trip. Ross doesn't finish at school in time to join me so it looks like it will be just me and Rusty.

We'll come up with a time that's good for everyone. I'm sure most of us will be burning the midnight oil on camping prep since we'll be working the day before. Well, except the fire fighters, they don't work much :flipoff2:
 
Don't be a hater, I will be hard a work getting my camper ready while I work. Just kidding. I get off the morning of the 3rd and will have to swing by the house to pick up my family, but we would enjoy convoying with you guys. Hopefully you won't be driving too fast, oh wait you only have six cylinders!:flipoff2:
 
Looks like I'm in, I'll call tomorrow and make reservations for the nights of the 5th and 6th at 4j+1+1:bounce:

Travel plans

I was planning on driving up from Midalnd to ABQ the night of the 3rd. spending the night and pulling out the morning of the 4th, hoping to hookup with the group to make the drive to Co. anyone leaving then?
 
Ouray is a 7 hour trip from Albuquerque. I am planning to leave the afternoon of the 3rd but the plans might change and I would leave early on the 4th. PM your cell number and I will text you if I have to wait until the 4th.

Looks like 4j+1+1 is full, anyone staying elsewhere?
 
There's a KOA about five miles down the road. The amphiteather campground (linked in my first post) is a FS campground that is very rustic but closer to Ouray.
 
Does anybody know the status of Black Bear Pass? Open or closed, or where to find info on the status of the passes in the area? Just curious last I heard Black Bear was under construction, I am hoping it will be open by trip time.

Looks like it's closed today, and maybe opening on the 26th? I think I'm reading that right...
