I have found this product , as reflected oven , made by a swedish guy .
wonder if it will eventually work also as a pit fire , with some modifications for air flow and coal holder

So cool idea about to use the campfire!

Looks nice!

I still think I will find time to do baking bread with my dutch oven -but it is still untested  For my last overlanding trips I don`t carry it with me...

I think I mentioned this awhile back, and it's too hot outside for this now. I have two dutch cast iron ovens at home, a thin enamelled one for the home electric oven, and a thick uncoated one for camping.

In the off-season, I follow the recipes in the home version, to be prepared for the field months later. You could also try some cooking in the backyard with charcoal, before you venture farther out.

a quick pic of my reflector oven doing yeoman duty, cooking supper last night on a mid-fall camping trip. i was too lazy to fuss over a fire so a small steak, some potatoes, veggies, onion n pepper all into a loaf pan, covered with cookie sheet. 11/2hr later without any more than throw wood on the fire to keep it up, dig in n enjoy :grinpimp:
