I seem to now be on the search for a used Tundra 5.7 with the extra or crew cab option. Single cab sucks !
The box length is not much of an issue as I will also have a roof rack and a topper.
And why didn't Toyota have a turbo diesel model ?????
I am looking at 2007 to 2014 year Tundra 5.7's
I have some questions likely best answered by Mud :
- Are heated seats available in all models ?
- Which models had leather seats ?
- the years from 2007 to 2014 how do they differ and does it really matter
with landcruisers the 40 model was built from 1950 to 1984 with very few differences that are significant.
Except the diesel circa 1983 -1984 power steering with 5 speed.
Looking forward to your replies !
thnx

I had a 2013 Crewmax Rock Warrior. It was an awesome truck, just didn't work for me trying to park in tiny parking garages in Portland, many of which were simply not tall enough. Left me the option in paying a ton for parking, walking a long ways to my building, or downsize, which I did until I moved to KC. My friend's F-150 ecoboost gets a lot better gas mileage, but I wouldn't trade it for a Tundra. Too many small issues always popping up for him. I will say that the interior of the new f150 is very nice though. Wish I still had the Tundra, but like the fit and finish of my 200 LC better.
Mine had cloth, but adding some Katzkin leather or Clazzio covers is fairly inexpensive, as are heated seats. I actually really liked the quality of the stock cloth seats. The 13 Tundra had dual climate control in the rock warrior/sr5 on up, where 14 and beyond provides that only in the limited and up.
The bigger gas tank in the last few model years would be a welcome addition. I have no authority on this, but there are rumors that the Tundra may be refreshed or redesigned with an introduction at the Chicago Auto show this month. If that is the case, keep an eye for special incentives on current models. The MSRP on mine was 42,xxx and I got it for $35,000 before TTL ($5,000 Toyota rebate in 2013 in CA after the reveal of the refreshed 14 model). With that type of discount, buying used simply made no sense.
I only drove mine just under 40k miles, but it ran trouble free, and had great power, even with heavy demello sliders and exp-one bumper. And gas mileage was acceptable. The six speed transmission matched with the 5.7 V8 was amazing. Also, avoid the flex vehicle option if you have any desire to get a supercharger. IIRC, the flex fuel engine and the supercharger don't mix.
Edit-the 13 and up have Entune (not sure about the 12).
