Definitely good to know… my thought was just that the LX570 is so much more for similar money. But I guess it’s also the best suited to my needs. I just was wanting to make sure I wasn’t spending more money than was practical. I heard on YouTube that the LX and LC 5.7 is a better built engine than the 5.7 in the tundra and sequoia, is that so?1st gen sequoia and 100 Series are both solid rigs, but if you're towing a trailer with a vehicle on it, they'll both be marginal, with a slight nod towards the sequoia for longer wheelbase
2nd gen sequoia or 5.7 Tundra are both great trucks if the size isn't a problem for you. I wouldn't want to do much wheeling around Colorado in either because of the width.
GX460 is a good rig, but a lousy tow vehicle, IMO. I found it underpowered when I drove one in the mountains for a weekend. It's a porky little fella, as evidenced by the fact that the preceding gx470 actually has a better power-to-weight ratio despite being 40hp shy of the 460.
Definitely a deal breaker… one of my biggest gripes with the Tahoe is its poor gearing and therefore bad towing. Wouldn’t want the next vehicle to be the same.I am on my third GX460, I don't enjoy towing with them at all but if it were my only option I'd keep your loads under 3K lbs.
Tempting but I have to sell off a car or two before I’m able to purchase something. My folks don’t love my having 3 cars already.I have a 2010 lx570 with 180k miles. I’d sell it for $23.5k. Clean carfax, silver and black leather, all maintenance records since new. Only lexus dealer serviced. 3rd owner. Located in NC.
I do my own maintenance. I’m pretty mechanically inclined but I leave any big/risky jobs to a shop.Do you do your own maintenance? Are you handy? It do you rely on dealership or 3rd party to do your own maintenance?

For Lexus/Toyota I have always preferred the Japan built vehicles. Same for Mercedes/BMW, I always prefer the German built vehicles. The models built in North America have noticeable differences in overall quality from my personal experience. Or it could have just been the ones I've owned.100% BS. It's the same engine. Final assembly done in Japan vs. USA, but using the exact same parts.
This is correct. For Lexus/Toyota I have always preferred the Japan built vehicles. Same for Mercedes/BMW, I always prefer the German built vehicles. The models built in North America have noticeable differences in overall quality from my personal experience. Or it could have just been the ones I've owned.

I feel the same way, but according to an engineer who is also pretty well respected on youtube and Car Care Nut in an interview with Car Care Nut, the difference is inconsequential.
