1hd-ft

Hey Riad,
I swapped in the complete engine/auto tranny/ transfer case assembly, which I purchased from G&S Cruisers(here in BC) I don't believe anybody has been able to use the A343F auto in a 1HD-T or 1HD-FT diesel swap.
I've been driving the diesel LX since mid last year and I couldn't be more happy with the results. I have put on about 20,000 km and am averaging 12 L/100km or 19.6mpg(US) but can get into the high 10's (10 L/100 km) or 22 mpg(US) if I go easier.

LX,

Would an a442f work with the 1HD-T?

Also, any ball park figure for the engine and install?

I need to find out if a diesel swap is something to persue or just dream about at night....

Cruiserparts.net has a 1fze listed right now.... forget the year, with 67K miles. Said it ran perfect, out of a rearended vehicle.

$2500

shocker,

I was on their site lastnight and saw that. noticed they had a 174k miles one for 1500 as well.

Honest 2500 for 67k miles sounds like the best deal. Wouldnt need a rebuild.

Thats raises a question though, say that engine is from a 95-97 fzj....will it mount in a 93-94 without any problems, if so then a supercharger would be a better option for added power seeing as 95-97 will take the supercharger better.

You would need the updated ECM, etc. also. You can rebuild your motor for $2500.

Cruiserman,

How do you come up with $2500....is that me doing it myself? As much as i would love to take the time and rebuild a 1FZ i dont think i would have the time, tools, and most important....the knowledge.

Not trying to heat this up again but i just got an email with these pics.

Its not the cleanest thing in the world. I'll probably end up leaving it alone unless he offers it at an awesome price.

You pull, assemble it, and install it, and the machine shop does the rest. No specialized knowledge nor tools required.

Shows great compression.

Wait.......is someone trying to steal my 1fz

Damit!!! you found me out. :grinpimp:

whats the guys # again :D

Haa...

I emailed him and gave him my final offer. If he wont take it i will forward you his email address or post it on this thread.
Odd no one noticed it in the pictures, it was an ebay auction awhile back that never sold. The guy never included "fzj" in the title or description so i stumbled upon it in 15 pages of landcruiser items.....

I'd say thats a good deal, even if you have to put a little work into the engine you are still ahead. You should go for it. Would love to see a write up on how you install it.

B, i'd say that's a pretty dang good deal too. That is if it's in the condition stated. If i were you and had a little extra coin i would get it. You can fool around with it on weekends fixing it up and simply drop it in when your motor gives up the ghost.

I would however make a statement that if the motor is received in a lesser condition than advertised he must take it back, shipping included.

My motor failed @ 146k. Something to think about.
