bunch of 60 stuff wanted

Figgered I'd post up and see if anyone has a ratbagged old 60 in their back yard.
( seeing as the king of the rat bagged 60's in the yard left the damn country...)

there's more stuff I need, that I'll remember later.


Basically I'm right at the stage where I'm deciding between a 3b and 5spd for the project truck, or do I just pick up a s***ty old mini truck and go with a 22re/5spd. and have lots of useful parts left over...

Think I'd prefer the 3b, seeing as I already have one, and I have something of an aversion to spark plugs, but the lure of the cheap mini truck parts is kinda strong....

needless to say cheaper is better.

FWIW South Island Imports in Nanaimo just got a 60. I have no idea if they're fixing it, parting it out, or what. I don't even know if it's a diesel. I just saw it getting unloaded the other day. Might be worth giving them a call.

might have the rear driveshaft for that...
what else you need...
have a grill
battery trays...
hood springs..
have an extra roll up cover that mounts behind the grill to stop the cold air flow over rad...
have to look through the boxes of sixty stuff...

have you asked Able if he has any of that... he was parting out a sixty awhile ago

Yeah I should give able a shout.

wiring harness and cluster are the main things.

body isn't a 60, or even a cruiser so I'm ok for that other stuff.

s*** son, why didn't you say something... i might still have the harness from my old 60 kickin around, do have the cluster too i believe and i even have a hood you can splice onto that aluminum stuff...

sounds like able might have one, if not I might have to send you digging into that parts horde you're sitting on...

cluster isn't too important at the moment tho, it's everything else that needs a bit of work...So if I can't get one from able, I can wait.
If it turns out I get to a point where I need it I'll give you a shout for some directions to it in that freaky Rob Zombie-esque basement of yours...


Giant pop can is about right, as it sits, I try to jack up any one corner and damn near the whole truck comes off the ground


I figger that 1000lb/90hp lump of scrap iron of yours I'll be zap strapping into the engine bay should help with the gravity thing.



and Ken, I'll post up some pics the next time I push it out of the garage for a clean up . it's amazing how much s*** piles up under a project truck in a small workshop...

probably in the next few days.

New parts? you have me confused with someone else...I'm waaay too cheap for that...

Revised list....


some 3B parts i need...

water pump pulley ( with or without fan on it)
belt tensioner
pivot bolt & adjuster bracket thing for alternator
ps pump and lines would be nice...
12v starter. ( and telling me you have a spare but want to keep it, doesnt f'ing count....)

general 60 parts

functioning calipers ( got enough seized ones, thanks) and rotors ( even a set of mini truck solid rotors and calipers will work. Good enough for rear discs. )
and if anyone has any broken disc brake knuckles I'll take em. cutting them up for rdb brackets, and I hate to cut up a good pair if I can avoid it.


that's enough to keep me going for a bit... could probably use a 60 parts truck.
