I was just under the hood installing a new pcv valve, and I think it's time to start working through all the hoses. I'll probably get all OEM for the molded hoses, but does anyone have a good source for bulk metric vacuum hose, and an idea of diameters needed for the 100? I hear silicone is the best, but I'd go with whatever Toyota used because it's lasted 20 years.

Pic for attention.

I replace all my “bulk” vac lines with black silicone ones. They never harden and will outlast the car. I dont use them for oils tho. And for water, it should be reinforced, and they do permeate slowly, but its not enough to be an issue. Been using silicone hoses for over 30 yrs in various cars, and am an advocate for it on older cars.

Say no to Mishimoto.

You can order the vacuum hose right from Toyota. Depending on what you are replacing there are already pre-made bits available with the correct bends, etc (the idle air up hoses, for example).

If you need bulk hose you can use this P/N:

90999-92002

The last digit denotes how long the hose will be.

Awesome! Thank you, this is the kind of thing I was looking for. Would there happen to be a similar part number for the really small hoses coming off the intake air box?

Doesn't Wit's End have a bunch of kits? (site is down right now for maintenance though . . .)

Verify for your year, but that sounds like the idle up hose set that connects to the valve on the power steering pump.

I purchased this kit of metric silicone from Amazon along with new hose clamps. If I recall, 6mm was the most common and more than 4ft of 6mm would have been useful. However, 8mm worked fine as a substitute. No 10mm was needed, but I used 4-5" of the 4mm ID. 8mm is also needed for some lines even if you have plenty of length in 6mm. The idle up hose is 6mm ID both directions I believe.

You could do most of the engine bay with only 6mm metric and a pack of metric clamps, but small sections of other sizes are helpful. Do your PCV hoses with OEM while you're in there if you can.

I'll probably pick some of this up as well to cover anything I miss. I just did all the PCV hoses with OEM from Cruiser Patch, getting in there an looking around got me started on this hose journey haha.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to respond. This community is awesome.

Wit's End........(site is down right now for maintenance though . . .)

That will most likely be permanent. Head over to the 80 forum and do some searching if you want the full story.

But this would be GREAT item for our guy @cruiserpatch to have on his site.

Yikes! Sad to read. I had ordered some parts from WE a few months ago and they came through - although I had a question about one of the radiator hoses that was sent.

Agree - head over to @cruiserpatch!

I’ve been dragging my feet on this one.

The PCV hose kits have four iterations across the years of the 100 which I only just figured out this week

The evap kits will more than likely be more straight forward although the VVTI introduced a lot of changes throughout the engine system.

Any help would be appreciated identifying part numbers etc so I can get a few kits together for everyone.

Fun fact: every single kit offered by WE for the 100 series had at least one error in part numbers/excluding necessary parts

I’ve added kits with experience and multiple jobs completed under my belt (sans the PCV kit- see previous post). I don’t like stocking parts that I have no personal experience with

^ Lesson learned!

Well you just got me sorted on my '04 PCV, so you have that one covered!

Thanks for ordering! And thank you for those part numbers- I assume these would fit the 2003-2005.

I’ll look closer into the 06-07 but that’s super helpful! I’ve got the 98-02 covered so expect these to join the site soon (probably late June early July)
