I went and checked out a '96 on Sat. The only connection I have with the guy is our mechanic. He's ready to sell. Asking 7k. You could probably talk him down a little more. I would, I just don't have the cash right now.

I'll post a pic in the morning cause the camera is at work.

Here ya go. I have his phone number if you're interested.
96 $6700 001.webp

I've been in contact with this guy - nice guy. Vehicle is in OK shape - does have a vibration at around 65-70 mph which could just be a tire out of balance but I didn't look further. It does have lockers front/rear - interior pretty clean - standard OME 2.5" lift - front brush guard and rear tail light guards. The seller does seem motivated.

Less than 160k.

It's been offroad alot. It's towed a boat alot. Seems to be well taken care of. Mentioned a top end rebuild needed soon. Is his DD.

If I had the cash, it would be at my house.

I have more pics somewhere...

Wow, the engine is filthy.............not that there's anything wrong with that. But if i were selling my rig it would be a lot cleaner than that.

I interrupted him on Sat. He had just gotten off work and hadn't made it that far yet. He was nice enough to change his afternoon schedule to accommodate me.

Missing hood insulation?

yep, of course mine is too, but rubber doesn't fade :)

nice looking rig, except for the dirt under the hood . . . can't try for an 80 right now though

vibration could just be a steering stabilizer; not terribly expensive or even uncommon. Easy to fix. Looks like a good deal though.

Its parked diagonal to Riverside HS in Greer. Saw it on my way home last night. Phone number on it is 304-9300.

must.....resist.......... :grinpimp:.......need...a...commuter...............

So buy it! I've been using a lifted 80 for a daily driver for years.

Whoa...what happened to that other thread about buying a little toaster oven to drive around in???

Edit to say I am a fan of being a good steward of our natural resources... ;)

LOL - I love the term "toaster oven." That is my debate...be practical and get an economical 'toaster oven' or an 80 to wheel.....argh!

I think Dan has rubbed off on me a bit - Mr. "Cruiser commitment problem."
