Building an '03 100 (1 Viewer)

Okay...got all the wiring and lights buttoned up today. Rock lights tucked up under the sliders, rear lights for back-up and camping, a light behind the spare which can be aimed into the back when the rack is open or used for camping. The rock lights are controlled by a switch on the dash, as are the rear lights. The light behind the spare is controlled by a switch installed in the back next to the 12V outlet. All the lights and wiring installed by 4x4Labs. Great work as usual. All very clean and well executed.

Nice build!
I'm not sure if you have decided on a roof rack yet but we will have ours ready soon!
(Dissent offroad) I'm also located in grass valley and would like to do a couple more installs before the rack is released. Let me know if your interested or want some details. There will be a light bar option like on the Tacoma as well.

So, update on the build performance. Truck has been up to Seattle and back and out to Glacier and back to California, with zero issues. Performed beautifully. The 35s do rub occasionally when turning into climbing obstacles, but nothing serious. Suspension is a dream both on and off-road, bumpers are awesome, as is the rack on the back. One of the lights leaked, so I have to go back to Luke and check on that...but literally...the thing is a dream. If you want the best parts, and the best work, and the best service and the best performance...Luke and the boys at 4x4Labs can't be beat.

I went with a BajaRack and the CVT Shasta. There's a basket in the front of rack that I keep MaxTrax, shovel, axe, etc. BTW, love the NV wheels, just wish they came in 16".

So…loooooong time since I posted here. Lots of life in between. Moved from NorCal to Austin, TX area. I do miss the Sierras…a lot. But lots I don’t miss…like income taxes. LOL. Anyway…just wanted to update…this build has been perfect. I’m up to 289,000 miles. After more than five years, zero problems with anything in the build from Luke and the boys @ 4x4 Labs. God Bless 4x4 Labs. The old lady Hundy herself is still running strong. Finally had to have a bit of work done recently. Front right axle, catalytic converter (hate those things), and a couple of miscellaneous maintenance items. I swear…that’s the first serious mechanical she’s ever had to have. I change the oil and check the fluids religiously, and that’s it. She’s been worth every penny and I’ve loved every mile. A bit of wear and tear on the black powder coating on the build parts, and a few small body dings here and there…but other than that…she’s still a beauty. Drivers’ seat leather split along a seam (so I installed camo seat covers front and back…I am in Texas after all). Heater in the passenger seat doesn’t work…but I don’t really ever use them here in Texas. My plan is to keep maintaining, upgrading and improving, and keep her forever. Every now and then I consider trading her for a pickup truck (again…Texas), but then wisdom and sentimentality get the best of me. Also every now and then I think of selling her and buying a younger model to build…but…she’s basically been perfect…so why give that up? I’m guessing she’ll end up with one of my kids when I go to the great four wheeling trip in the sky.
