ok, here it is in a nutshell.
History - All military units have signage outside of their respective elements, typically steel, some cases wood. In the case of my unit we have none do to the nature of our work, that being said, the CO wants to do something about it.

sign - square tubing, 2.5 x 4 box with legs extending down 4 ft or so. concreted in, we dont need any other units trying to steal it. lol. floated in the center of the rectangle is a sheet, i would figure cross braces of some flat stock centered then drilled would allow the sign to be floated and centered. standard lettering for the unit, but to add a bit of BLING the BN crest is to be cut out of stainless, polished then painted with the appropriate artwork. that would definatly sealed with something. float the crest out approx 3/4 inch from the sign face. all the metal would be powdercoated and any fasteners used would be security type.

what say you mud?
anyone in the SF bay area willing to help with somethin like this? I will be paying materials out of pocket, but everything else is supertight. i can give you an award for your help and possibly some other items for recognition.

comments, suggestions, rants etc.

thanks
Mike

can you spring for a Humvee? :D

could you do a print on plastic/vinyl and glue it on? Easy to replace / restore / degraffiti / change with the times...

lol, we don't use those we use LANDCRUISERS!

One of the local home improvement superstores might donate materials for ya...

x2 on printing the logo then applying -- that's how we've done our FD annual awards items, including powdercoated Maltese Crosses.

can't use plastic, degrades to quickly. as for changes to the sign, the only way it would be changed is if the unit moves to another location. which is not likely. Since its inside an installation i would hope that graffiti isnt a concern. Although it is a federal crime to break in, i've caught a few morons over the years, usually stoned kids.

funny guy you are. dud.
