Excellent. I do over nighters in Mohican State Park all the time, in fact just did one Tuesday and got rained on most of the time but stayed dry with good gear. I'll be here when your ready Chris and we'll get you set up the way you want it to be. I like the idea on an integrated ladder system as an add on for my racks. the pipe I use has a 1" O.D. so hope thats what you wanted to hear. Congrats on the purchase and remember to always keep your wife happy when it comes to your Cruiser. One cant afford any animosity towards the Cruiser.

Merry Christmas to you and your family,
Jason

Thanks man. It's not quite purchased yet but I have the cashiers check in had and I'm flying Sunday night to get it and drive it the 1100 miles home starting Monday. It should be a good trip and hopefully uneventful. Perhaps I'll post a thread about my intended trip and route in case I need some fellow cruiser head help along the way.

Glad you stayed dry the other night at Mohican. Good gear is always the key. I don't often camp at Mohican as I have a good friend who has a weekend cabin near there and he is always very accommodating.

Anyway great xmas to you and your family as well.

Chris

Had the Green Machine to Mammoth Mountain for a family vacation over Christmas. My daughter who lives in Colorado Springs loves it and has been trying to talk me into giving it to her since I acquired it in May. She's had an 02 4Runner for the last nine years so I get it.

Thought this picture would make you all smile. These racks are up to any task.

Great rack(s)....lol

Racks are shipping as of now guys!!! Been holding off talking and negotiating with other carriers... getting no where really. I want shipping to be an after thought not a deciding factor in buying my stuff. Besides, shipping shouldn't be a million dollars... unreal. Stuck with UPS for the near future. Call me with any questions. I dont get on here as much as I use to. The forums kinda changed a little and I just dont have time for drama.

Check me out on Facebook

Nick, can I get an invite to next christmas at your place? Great photo and pretty ladies! The rack looks great too!

Chris- Come to Mammoth Lakes next Christmas and I'll guarantee a fun time. Those three ladies have been best friends since pre-school and our families are so blessed and fortunate to remain close for all these years. The 80 was the car of choice for them (and the other kids) over a much newer Chevy Tahoe riding on m&s tires that was sliding around on the icy roads. Add the "cool factor" of the old Cruiser and it's no wonder my daughter (the one on the left) wants my rig back in Colorado!

Got a full size rack powder coated and even boxed ready to go!!! $750.00 and it could be yours!!!!

SOLD but I have a full floored full sized rack for sale. Little pricier but a very nice rack... wink wink.

We used 8 of the 4 wheel parts clamps on our flat rack build. The rack is quite close to the roof (what we wanted). In order to level out the rack we had to add 3/8" flat bar spacers to the top of the front clamps only. Our rack is 84" x 54" has a 42" light bar up front and backup 4" led's that are all wired through the rack.
Got pics of your rack

RUNNING THE 20% OFF SALE AGAIN ON RACKS AND 80 SERIES BUMPERS!!!!

Attn: Mud members. I had ordered a rack on Nov21st from Jason at UnderDawg fab and did not get very good communication. It was finally shipped on January 16th to which he said 3 days to ship. I ordered so soon because of my vacation trip and I needed to mount my RTT to the cruiser, The rack didn't show up till January 21st at the dock. Missed my vacation especially after being promised 4 week max turnaround. I have all receipts from Pay Pal as well as texts from Jason. Soon as I opened it up I noticed the rack was not straight. I think possibly UPS did a horrible job transporting or it isn't packaged correctly. I paid for the rack, shipping, and expanded metal floor and for powder coat. Grand Total of $1125.00. Now because it was slightly bent I figured over time that with weight and using Gamiviti mounts it would pull the rack straight over time. So far, still see the waves lengthwise in the tubes but dealing with it. What I'm most mad about is the so called 2 part powder coat. Do not pay for it, I will be posting pics. A week after mounting to my rails on the FJ 80 I noticed brown staining all over my roof. The rack is RUSTING! at all of the mount plates welds the powder coat is very thin and horrible application. At the expanded metal its rusting at the edges. I have to now remove rack and try to fix. Rattle can will look horrible. I asked for some help and Jason told me to ask for my money back from the powder coater. That's horrible business practice. I was nice and said to please help. I texted several times with no reply from Jason. I called him a liar about his business practice and willingness to help fellow mudders, and I'm not rich at all, but if I would have known the quality and the lead time I would have bought the more expensive Gamiviti, or Baja racks. Please be aware I dont think he is licensed or bonded either, and since I live in Oregon so far away I believe he thinks I will just deal with this. I hope fellow mud members will do the research and choose vendors carefully. Im still trying to get a hold of powder coater for some sort of refund.

I don't think you can be licensed and bonded for a roof rack builder. Also, if you're talking insured, then commercial General liability insurance excludes "your work". These terms are thrown around for effect and people don't know what they are talking about. But what do I know, I'm just a lowly insurance agent....carry on

What should noted here is another mud member had a similar issue with his rack and it was handled promptly and properly. Ill leave it to him to step up and speak on it if he feels the need. Also the powder coater has been let go of and I've found another. Its really unfortunate that you had to insult me. I would have atleast refunded you your powder coating back.

Actually we just talked today and do you want me to post our conversation? I asked for refund and you told me to call the powder coater which told me no way and to take it up w you. Please be honest here. I told you if you would help w partial refund of 125 the coating price that I wouldn't post the negatives of your business. I gave you that chance and you told me to pretty much pound sand. That is only why I'm warning other members here. Truth be told.
