Sheesh. Looks great!

You must have done this build ages ago, have all the pictures on file, and are using them to trick us into thinking you are the fastest working man alive...

Keep it up!!!!

no kidding ^

Haha. No, I just have the ability to work from sun-up to sun-down with no food or rest. I think its from growing up doing labor jobs all my life.

Also, I am forced to get everything done in short spurts, since this is my daily driver and I work m-f.

You should fly up to Portland and weld mine together real quick... :D

Oooooh! I just noticed you are from San Diego! I have some family moving down there so I will be around every once in a while. I will have to hit you up to see the beast in person and grab a beer or something.

Tired of sanding, thats as good as its going to get:

Not nearly perfect, but good enough for a BOV. The satin paint will hide quite a bit:

I think I am going to add to the stealth and black out the tail lights. My roommate did his motorcycle windshield with the VHT spray tint, and it looks good.

Sure thing. Just let me know when you are in town!

Still figuring out the plan for exhaust. I just did the O2 sensors and it made a HUGE difference in the way the truck ran. Once I finish chopping the fat off the rear end Ill make a final decision on exhaust.

Sounds like something I may want to do. What did you do to them and what did you use??

 Man nice epic build...

A lot of the higher speed wheeling stuff I have been doing had got me wishing for more tire coverage. Big thanks to Eric (sdnative) fpr the flares! They were looking a bit rough, so i rehabbed them.

As usual with these flares, half the mount tabs are broken. So I have some ideas to mount them in a way that should be more durable than the stock plastic tab system. More to come.

Glue. Lots and lots of glue.

That's what's holding on one of mine. You wouldn't know, and it was cheap.

Unfortunately, there are more tabs missing than tabs left, on the front flares. So regardless of how much glue I have on hand, I won't be using the stock mounting tabs. I'm going to Frankenstein things a bit. May turn out as a disaster, but half the fun is in the experimenting.

Yup, BTDT. When I replaced my rear DS flare, I think only one tab was left. One was able to be glued back on. We glued a long bolt in place to kinda guide it into the hole, so three tabs to make sure it was lined up and held in place for the glue to dry. There is a lot of glue around the edges of the flare that actually holds it in.

Don't know what we used, was common in the auto body world. I think it is often used for molding. Pretty thick and sticky, almost like a paste.

Maybe that helps?

I think I am just going run about 6, 5" bolts along the center of the flair and bolt it down. The heads of the bolts will show, but I am not too worried about that. Its a bit ghetto, but I think it should work.

Just be sure not to hit anything with them. The original mounting system was designed to break away if they got hit. I was gong to bolt mine down but I do hardcore rockcrawling so it would not be a wise idea for my case.

I hear ya. But part of the reason behind the bolts was so that I could easily
remove them if I go crawling.

Dzus fasteners perhaps?
