Need help with my broken switch (lower casing). I already tried few shops and none is confident of welding cast zinc without breaking it further. Please let me know if some one has got the extra lower case somewhere or a tip to get this repaired. Not to mention mine stalk is broken too but atleast working.

no welding required, I have no experience with the said product but 400 degrees is easily reachable with Mapp/Propane

We cook pizza at 400 degrees in the oven. Would be curious how it holds up to stress. The handle on the 68-74 (US market) hatch breaks in the thin spot for lock. Have a feeling it wouldn't hold up to that use. A rebuild turn signal switch that the handle moves freely might fair better. Haven't looked into seeing if you can release some tension so it moves easier. Not sure if it's a design flaw or dried up grease that caused most the handle to break.

Its a bit better now after some cleaning and CRC spray. It will be rebuilt later on anyways. Phil found this for me from one of the wracks, it was always broken and I was hopeful that I will find some one to fix it. "By The Way where is Phil" no news from him. I even sent him a message about a year back but he never replied.
