Who makes rear disc conversion brackets and who makes the backing plate eliminator for the fj60. Thanks

Thanks but i have a semi-float rear axle, Is there a way to make it a full floater?

I converted mine using front fj60 discs and calipers. That means I'll need another way to get an emergency brake. I made my own bracket and needed wheel spacers to clear the caliper (I wanted spacers anyways) with the rims I'm running. Stock rims could be used with a little caliper grinding I think. I converted the front to 4runner parts and had these left over in good condition so I used them. As far as a backing plate eliminator I just removed the 4 bolts and it was eliminated.

where did ya get your brackets from boots? make em?

I've seen pics of disc brake brackets around and made my own. Pretty simple. To get the caliper positioned:
  • I made sure the pistons where the same depth on both sides
  • installed the pads
  • placed the caliper on the rotor (already installed on the axles which were already installed in the carrier so the axle doesn't move in or out)
  • put the caliper on the rotor and kept the rotor centered between the pads
  • made sure the caliper didn't touch the rotor at its ends and rotated the caliper on the rotor so that the bleeder screw was at the top (that way air can escape when bleeding and not get trapped)
  • measured/cardboard mocked for a bracket
  • cut out the bracket, test fit and grind
  • I tacked nuts to the bracket to make tightening the bolts easier
  • recheck clearances and tacked on the bracket, took off the caliper and welded the bracket on.
  • voila, rear disc brakes
