Please help me order what I need. I bought some 76 front disc brake axles for my 75 FJ40. All the brake lines and hardware were missing so I need to order these from the dealer. Using SOR diagrams for reference... If anyone has OEM part numbers, that would be great.

So for the front I would need:
#76 T-fitting
#60 Brake Proportioning Valve
#71 Junction
#8 Clips (X2)

For the rear:
#14 T-fitting

AM I MISSING ANYTHING?

Also, now that Rain Man is not making brake lines, is there another vendor that makes these at a reasonable price? Still debating on doing these myself since I have no molds to follow.

Thank you,
ML

Also, I ordered new Bilsteins. Is there a shock absorber installation kit? I would need the crown nuts, washers, etc.

Thanks!

I pulled all the fittings and clips I needed for my conversion at a junkyard from old mini-trucks and used a proportioning valve from Wilwood. If the cruiser you're asking about is the '75 in your sig, the fittings should all be the standard Toyota 10 mm stuff across the board and you won't have to worry about all the 9 mm garbage the early models had.

I'm going through how I did my cruiser in my head, I believe the proportioning valve goes on the rear circuit line, and I'm unsure why you need the junction in the front. Do you not have a dual circuit master cylinder installed? The front should just be a hard line from the master to the t-fitting on the driver side, and a hard line that wraps around the front to the terminal fitting on the passenger side.

I had never bent or flared line and I was able to do my entire 40 in a day. Just buy a spool of line from NAPA, a good flare tool, and a bender. Or skip the bender and use a beer bottle :) Afterward, you'd be able to do your fuel lines (with a larger size line of course).

I haven't done my suspension, so I don't have any help for you there...

Thanks Tezmac, will the fittings from any mini truck work? does it have to be 4X4? Any particular year(s)? Parts are for the '75 in my sig with '76 axles (front disc). Truck has no MC, I will get a dual circuit one for it and just use the t-fitting. I have a bender & plenty of beer bottles but still need a flaring tool, any suggestions on a modestly priced one?

The hardware for the shocks is available through Beno or Cruiser Outfitters.

Plus one to doing your own lines. Get the flare tool that has an index for the clamp so the flares don't get crooked.

Thanks Jdc! Suggestions on the flare tool & source greatly appreciated.

I don't recall what the precise years of the trucks I scavenged were, but they were all definitely from the '80s. Drivetrain configuration doesn't matter. All of the brake line receptacles are 10mm x 1.0; if you bring one of your new fittings when you go, you can make sure it threads correctly on the donor vehicle before you pull it.

As for the flaring tool, I bought a Craftsman at Sears; it was about $50 or $60 if I recall correctly.

I paid $60 on sale.

Here are the part numbers for the castle nuts and washers. I found them this morning on MUD. Looks like I'm in the same boat as you with brake lines and shock hardware. I may get over to Toyota tomorrow and see if they have them. If not I'll order from a vendor.
94146-41200 castle nut
90948-03003 washer inside
90948-03004 washer outside
If your ditching the backing plate like I am here is the part number I found for brake line from axle to caliper. Napa 38881. Haven't picked this up yet to confirm.

Thanks Cim, I have ordered forn Sam Stewart and Beno in the past. Since I am a long ways from my rig being complete, I am ordering from one of the above. Are you doing the brakes also?

I got 60 series knuckles and discs. Hoping the outer brake lines are all I will need for my swap.

How much hard line will I need to do the whole truck, brake lines & clutch lines? I had a 25' roll in the garage but that does seem to be enough. Thanks, ML

I also have 36 10mm fittings...
