"BRAKE" light on dash will dim, but not turn off.

1981 FJ40 restoration I am finishing has a few bugs in it, one I cannot find an answer to is why the brake light on the bash will not go out. Just dim............I unplugged the switch at the E-brake ans still dim.

Set the brake and the piaa light is stunning!

Ideas?

check grounds?Brake fluid level?Alternator connections? On my 1981 BJ40 that lite serves as a E brake on lite , a low output from Alt indicator and as a low brake fluid indicator as i understand.

I will check.....also with key off it will not go off..

prolly low fluid or the wire to the cap is buggered up
