Friend of mine had a '30s triumph. Wooden running board.I still have a set of Whitworth spanners somewhere, originally stemming from the first British bike I ever owned, a 1949 BSA.

You don't really want a big red light coming on each time you press the pedal when there's nothing wrong....lights off when brake pedal depressed. The japanese had their own way of doing things, hey?

If the red light comes on without the pedal then it shows that your handbrake is on.

Brake light remains on when parking brake off. Does that confuse you?
I like the big red light to tell me brakes are ok, because I don't fully trust the stock braking system I have.

Check your handbrake is fully released and the switch is correctly adjusted.
