So I've been cruising my rig around without any doors or roof and noticed my windshield frame vibrates ALOT when I offroad - not a big surprise since the frame is not braced at the top. I was thinking of welding on a small strut (or piece of metal) to brace the windshield frame directly to the top of my roll cage bar.
So has anyone experienced this issue, and if so what did ya do??
Any suggestions? - Other then resting the windshield on the hood or putting the doors back on :/
Also the two dash knobs are tightened and secure.

Thanks Fellow Mudders!!!

An expensive option but you could run it with soft top bows. That ads a b pillar and the connecting piece from b pillar to windshield frame. Mine is set up like this and the windshield doesn't move.

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I had a really bad shimmy in the windshield on road. Then I got new tires and it was gone. So I never did it.
But if it comes back, I have a plan: a turnbuckle from the cage to the bolt for the corner bolt hole of windshield frame. My only concern would be how visible it would end up being. Possibly there’s another spot to attach it to, but I haven’t needed it yet.

I've been running a rigid bikini top when the roof is off for the last 20 years. It has taken care of windshield movement.

The next step will be bracing the windshield frame to the front hoop of the six point cage... if I ever run with out the Bikini again

If you have a 6 point cage, using a small turnbuckle, 2 bolts and fence strap from the front bar to the windshield frame are about as cheap/easy as you can do it. The tension is adjustable with the turnbuckle too. I ran this on my old 1972 Bronco and it worked perfect to stiffen the windshield frame when running no doors/top.

I did it the opposite way pushed the windshield forward with a spacer block. I needed the windshield pushed forward with the soft top on so my steel doors didn’t hit the windshield frame when closing the door. This way the window can still flex and move if it needs too. Just bolted a block to the visor bolt hole and wedged it in between the roll cage and windshield frame. Here a a few crappy pics taken with the iPad. Mine has a metaltech cage. The block is a bit fugly. But I needed a quick fix to get my rig ready to head the 2000km to Pismo beach The blocks have been there for a few years now. I don’t even notice them there anymore.

++++push windshield forward put blocks in crank up knob down by dash pad no more wobbly windshield.

Another great option!
Thank you for posting!
Almost finished with my Metal Tech Cage. Can't wait to bolt-it in and install my family summer top - although its now Winter, lol

I used shaft collars to bolt my windshield to the top of the rollcage. I welded a tab that linked the collar to the tab on the windshield that normally bolted to the "door bow" of the hardtop. No pics as this was back before digital cameras. Shaft collars can be had from McMaster-Carr McMaster-Carr

I used metal pipe from Home Depot, 30” middle, 2- couplers, and 2-5” sections with end caps. Drilled through the end caps and attached to rollbar and windshield. May not be the best option, but it was only $40.
