Hello

I picked up a 16 a few months ago.
I currently have and OEM spacer method 18 MR312 18mm offset
275/70 18 BFG’s 32.2x10.9

Can’t leave good enough alone.
Only 1 month on this setup.
Just ordered the ome BP51 setup

Any chance a 295/70 18 BFG about 34.3x11.6 will fit WITH OUT kdss relocation?
Some trimming/heat gun will be ok

Thanks for the input

Yes. You can do it at that size. Make sure you add upper control arms, such as SPC that will allow additional positioning option in the wheel well. 1.25 spidertrax spacers are an option to widen stance as well…but definitely need UPA.

OK. Others can chime in on specifics of that UCA, which is fairly new here. The unique aspect of the SPCUCA is its ability to rotate, which allows placement of the tire forward or rear word…. which can go along way toward avoiding contact.

Remove mudflaps both in front of the front tires and behind. Also have a heat gun handy in case you need to reshape fender skirting.

Great to know

I will ask the guys at toytech if I can switch to SBC.

Just placed order yesterday.

To be clear… SPC…with a P.

At one point I had been frustrated with squeaky SPCs… But in hindsight I think they were not actually the main squeak culprit.

I actually has SPC on an 18 4Runner and had to replace one immediately after install bc of a clicking clunky sound.

They did replace for free.

If all you want to do is have a show pony, with big fat tires, sure , you can do that. But if you want to actually use a Land Cruiser the way it is intended, then you need to allow for room for the tires/wheels to articulate as you go over rough trails, and you need to allow for the fact that a Land Cruiser loaded down with extra water, extra gasoline, camping equipment, food, beer, ice chest/freezer, passengers, how much that is going to take up some of that space in the wheel wells. You can also put on a 12” diameter chrome exhaust end pipe sticking out from under your bumper, but to what end? I have never met an obstacle i couldnt get over with 33” tires. And my friend has 31s, and he says the same. Bigger looks cool, but dont get too carried away with size. That is MY humble opinion.

You aren't wrong.

A little experience and better line choice will get a rig with 33s over an obstacle that will stop a bad driver with 35s very, very often. And, break way less stuff in the process.

I completely agree. Function over form.
Definitely not trying a 35. 34… yes.

My tires now or just 10.6 wide.

Would at least like to get a bit wider tire since I will have the OME BP51.

The BP51 lift does not allow you to run wider tires. It allows taller tires. The SPACER mentioned above or offset allows the wider tires. This is to clear the KDSS near the front left tire.

There is a thread called 34 vs 35 tires which is a very good read.

I have the 16 with BP51 and am running 33.98" x 11.5" nitto tires 285 x 70 x 18. They barely clear the KDSS and allow me to keep the mud flaps and OEM KDSS location.
Different manufactures have difference "actual" tire sizes for the same stated size. Be sure to look at the tire spec sizes.

Thanks

Definitely considering that size

I figured. :) Do you have a profile picture from the side of the car? Wanted to check how much space you have between tire and the upper potion of the wheel well. Are you set at 2 inches? I am running profile 65s and think if I add BP-51 it will look like the truck skipped leg day. Reason why I wanted to increase to 70s. Did you do any mods or chops? Tks

What is your goal? Just to look cool with big fat tires? You won’t be able to go on off road trails that you could with smaller tires. Because your wheel wells will have no room for articulation. So you will look like someone who just takes his Land Cruiser on pavement. But if that is what you want, so be it.

Minor trimming and a heat gun to the inner front fenders

Don’t have pic but tires tuck with wheel well at full flex

About 2.5 “ in front
